Iblades or blueprints

From your question it appears you already have the iBlades. What about them has you wanting to change? Why not consider the S59 as well?

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Dang, I though Pings S59 irons were introduced back around "07-08", and Blueprints are much more recent.  I would think, iBlades and tungsten would be more forgiving than Blueprints.

I hit the Blueprints right handed, being that there wasn't a lefty head available to demo, along with TW blades and actually preferred the Blueprints and like how compact they are looking down on them.  I guess my question would be is there a difference and what exactly are you looking for to feel the need to switch as I have to imagine they are very similar?  I manipulate my clubs to fit me and can manipulate any club to suit my needs so I tend to keep them until the face is beat off of them because club tech, especially iron tech, simply isn't moving that fast.  Best of luck with your testing though.  R to L.

I love the compact look at address. I haven’t hit them but I imagine they feel a bit more soft being forged vs the cast iblades. Although I’ve read most of the ‘soft’ feeling is your perception based on the sound at impact.

Turns out I like wasting money on golf so hopefully I can provide my review between the two soon.

When I hit golf balls with headphones on I can't discern between golf balls either and they all feel "soft" so I definitely think there is some validity to the acoustics and the perception of "soft" debate.   I'm simply not buying the cast vs. forged thing if Vokey can get away with their wedges being cast and no one has any issues and there hasn't been a wedge revolt as of yet!!

iblades are a long head true cavity back iron.  Tungsten in the toe.  Very forgiving.  I found the feel to be different but very similar in forgiveness to the i210.  I could see a struggle with the blueprints unless you consistently strike it slightly heel side of center.  With the iBlades I can miss pretty far out on the toe and get good results.

The Ping iBlades are hands down the best irons I’ve ever had. Sold them for the i210’s......epic fail.

Definitely interested in the i59’s when available

I felt the same about the 210.  Was really expecting great things but compared to the S55 for me, I found the smaller S series better in every way.  Something about the feel of the S55/iBlade that I love so the i59 isn't really on my radar being a forged club.

Owned both and much preferred the Blueprints. The iBlades never stood out to me in any category. They felt ok and performed ok, but I never had a “wow” moment with them. The BPs were outstanding performers for me. Loved the look, feel, and performance.

Be careful, though. They are very small compared to the iBlades and almost anything else on the market. I loved the compact profile, but they can be intimidating if you are used to larger irons (and even most player CBS are significantly larger than the BPs).

Despite the small profile, I found the BPs to be responsive, longer than expected, and really fun to play. Shot some of my best rounds of last summer with them. Regret moving on from them, but that’s what I do. Playing the Titleist 620CBs now, and like them as well.

It depends on your ball striking. If you're making solid center of the face contact 80%+ of the time, Blueprints would be my vote. I've hit both (game MP-18 blades) and I actually hit the Blueprints as far as any iron out there, father than AP2 or iBlade actually and with better shot shaping ability. The Blueprint was the only club I've hit in the last 3 years that made me seriously think about buying something not Mizuno MP. In the end, I stuck with Mizuno, but I was tempted for about a week. Honestly there's nothing the Blueprint doesn't do as well or better as my MP-18. In the end it was "devil you know". Why I prefer a blade is the shot feedback. When you miss it just a little, you absolutely know it and know exactly where you've missed it--slightly toe, little thin, little high on the face, etc. It's that shot feedback that helps me unconsciously correct my bad swings and makes me a better player. I really didn't ever hit a slightly thin or toe shot (my typical misses) that would have made the green with a cavity back that missed with a blade. But the shot feedback from blades makes me miss less. Read up on Mr. Miura and why small, forged muscle back blades are the true game improvement clubs!

Only hit the iblades briefly when I was fitted a few years ago.  Ended up buying the i210, which I like a lot.  They feel great for a cast iron and have many other great attributes.  Somewhere along the line I decided they were too long in the blade for me and moved on to blueprints (7-PW).  I absolutely love the blueprints and don't plan on changing them out for years (yeah, really).
