Can I safely assume that we’re going to have to hear this “I am the wind” nonsense all four days?

But as another Keegan pundit has noted a couple times, at 6'2" he isn't tall enough to look THAT gangly.

Gotta protect the Tour members. IF they do something like that then I would think they would need to amend the 125 as well, allow for a 125+x (x represents the number of newly minted PGA Tour members during a season). It has not happened often, but when when a player is promoted via battlefield promotion and wins (a la Jason Gore) to gain one of the 125 it means that one guy is forced out (a la Briny Baird). The Tour, more specifically the PAC I would reckon would still lean toward protecting the status quo.

Just as an example, but similar to WZ If he were to gain a PGA Tour card via special exemption or whatever they'd need to extend the 125

Oh yeah, 100%. I didn’t expand on it specifically, but 125+x is exactly what I think they should do. Plenty of alternate field events these days to accommodate everyone. Especially with the PGA tour in some way, shape or form about to absorb the Euro tour.

Anyway, like the LPGA did, they can make the change effective say 1/1/2022 and Zalatoris won’t bump anyone out this year but it’ll help out the next guy like Zalatoris and IMO improve the tour and tournament fields, even if it’s just a little bit.

Then again I’m An Old so I can remember back when they made the big all exempt change in ‘83 and the amount of resistance to that at the time—which was of course a change that has proven massively beneficial since. And certainly that was a bigger change than adding another 1-3 guys every once in a while to the 125.

Just my .02, and I love watching Zalatoris play too haha, so it’s a selfish request I guess. Anyone who is that damn skinny and can play at that level is cool with me.

situational awareness, or lack thereof, by the pga on 18 ... they really need to take away that advantage of a drop from the grandstand ... could spray 10 circles in the rough and make em drop in the closest one not nearer the hole ...

Read somewhere earlier today they played 18 from an up tee and it wouldn't be an issue from the back tee.

ETA: Found it.

https://golf.com/news/aiming-grandstand-kiawah-18th-hole/

Part of the reason the grandstand was in play was because tournament organizers moved the tee up 31 yards for Thursday’s round. That came in response to players hitting hybrids, 3-woods and even drivers into the green in their practice rounds — but it brought the left side much more into play.

Course also played approx 200 yards shorter today than it did for the practice rounds.

IMO they should go ahead and rewrite it like the LPGA did with regards to Sophia Popov after she won the British.  Might not help Zalatoris this year, but it'll help the next guy who comes along and plays as well as he has.

What's interesting is that while WZ keeps earning non member points on the PGA Tour and can not make the FEC playoffs w/o a win last week Stephan Jaeger nearly won for the 3rd time this season on the KFT. Had he won we would have received an immediate battlefield promotion to the PGA Tour and become an immediate member of the PGA Tour and could qualify for the FEC playoffs if he earned enough points. WZ has currently earned 1,036 non member points which would rank him 23rd in the current FEC standings.

Big advantage when measuring 2 club distance..

Based on the results by guys putting it in play, I think this is the only advantage the AF has given them. 😅

Why r pga club pros allowed into thus tournie...they have zero shot. Frank benzel..from ny...plus 17 today.

There are lots of touring professionals that have no shot on a weekly basis to win as well. Stock tour event or a major. As for PGA Championship it's really easy to find out a bit of golf history to answer your own question about club pros playing in the PGA Championship.

The beautiful brutality of Kiawah is producing some interesting storylines. Rory once again needs a good Friday to remain in touch with the leaders, Rickie showing he's not quite finished yet & Brooks' knee looks like it is holding up.

Is that Roryfanboi speak for 'he needs a miracle to make the cut'?

More of just the recurring pattern that his woeful first round scoring continues in majors (he's something like +58 for R1 scoring since 2016 in majors) and it's always a battle for him to produce a winning total in 3 rounds when everyone else in the field has 4 rounds to win. 😝

You're not alone, people have commented about checking his height multiple times to re-affirm for themselves he's only 6'2".  The way he hunches over the ball he looks like a giant.  It's like a bizarre optical illusion:

If Bradley is 6'2", I've seen 6'3", Rory is officially 5'6".

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I'm not reading through 13 pages of this thread, but jeez, is the starter on Ambien?  He's introducing the players with all the enthusiasm of Orange Cassidy.

"next on the tee, from, wherever, winner of, whatever, dustin johnson, i guess"
