Yeah, thanks for the clip! I was thinking the commercial also had one version where it was playing some Miles Davis. I think maybe “What’s Goin On.”

 

But the reference to the photo was of Phil standing like a boss, arms akimbo.

I’ll take the counterpoint side on this one. That scene and others like it, a la East Lake, or wherever else (storming the court included). Is totally and completely unacceptable, it has zero place in golf. The Tour/hosting organization need to doa better job protecting their players. Further more on my end of course maintenance, I do not want hundreds (thousands?) of yahoo’s trampling all over the property. You are a fan...not a player, not a caddie, not a coach, not a cameraman, not a scorer. You are nothing. Just a fan, absolutely nothing more. The ropes are there to separate the players from the fans.

It truly was. Will it be the model for crowd control in future events? No. But it will be another of Golf's iconic moments and fortunately a memory to cherish for those who were witness.

See I’m torn .  I enjoyed the scene in the moment.  But.  When you said that i suddenly saw the opposite side.  I loathe concerts unless I can get a balcony or suite seat.  One where I can actually sit.  And enjoy.  I mean people just act like animals.  So yea.  That made me step back and pause .  Great point.

But what should they do? 500 cops aren't going to stop 10000-15000 people if they want to storm the course. I guess they could build a fence around the course and treat golf like a cage match. Look, I'm not condoning what happened on the 18th. But, sitting on my couch with a beer and my favorite golfer about to make history, it was a damn cool scene. I never said it was right, there was still golf to play. Regardless, the atmosphere was electrifying .

You can’t stop a crazy crowd. This was nuts. Chambliss almost got mugged of his helmet and couldn’t even get to home plate!

It’s tough. Kinda feel like Bruce was being a baby, decided to cry about fans instead of his performance. Deflection? But yeah, being injured in a crowd is scary I guess.
