lol I basically said the same thing before reading this post, God help us when they make Beth Ann the next Commish 😂

WTH.....don't even say this....with your bad karma....she will become Commish.

First we had Smiley Whan....I don't need Giggles Beth Ann.

Beth Ann is unbearable with all her giggles.

I couldn't imagine Paige M and Beth Ann doing a broadcast at the same time...if my mute button was broken...I'd have to cut my ears off.

Yikes, 18 a day seem doable you'd probably play close to that on the days you're practicing anyway, 36 on Sat and Sun seem likes a lot leading into a major but then again I guess most top players are under 30, so physically tired probably won't be a thing but mentally tired going into a Major is possible.

Is Dame Laura Davies in the field for the US Open, for some reason I feel she has a shot lol  Well maybe it's the KPMG where she'll get it done 🙂

Yeah, that's the way the old PGA Championship used to be organized prior to the 1950s and the US Open used to play 36 holes on Saturday to wind up the event.  Sunday was used as a church day/travel day.  It's part of the Ben Hogan lore about winning some of his US Opens after the accident on wonky legs, getting them rewrapped between rounds along with an aspirin and a ginger ale.

6200 yards is the equivalent of about 7175 men’s yardage. Still too short?   The women typically play much longer courses, relatively, than do the men. As do us amateurs.  That’s using 255 vs 295 yard driving average.

I also think the guys play yardages too short.

I think the guys should be playing at 7600-7800.

But there are few premier courses who are willing to host a PGA/men's event that are of that length.

Assuming some courses do have the space to expand...do these clubs really want to spend millions to renovate to host an event just for the PGA tour

With the windy conditions...I loved seeing some guys hitting long iron and hybrid approach shots at Kiawah.

I hope the gals can play Kiawah as a major one day.

Sounds like you're playing at a place like Riverway, Burnaby Mountain or Mayfair Lakes!  Mayfair is only poor at certain times of the day/week though!

Nope.

At least RW & BM hire marshals to make an effort to manage PoP.

IMO....Mayfair isn't that slow unless it's a day where most golfers don't care about PoP.

Minimal searching for lost balls at MF....you're either in play or you're wet....and the ponds are deep....so it minimizes golfers hawking golf balls.

But.....I'm not paying...I think rack rates are $100-$115 + tax at MF nowadays....I used to play it on the cheap in the winter with the GolfBC 2 for 1 coupons...a booklet I used to get at the Golf Expo show.

Obviously length is not the only factor for scoring.  But I generally think anything under 6,500 (women) and 7,500 is (too) short.  To keep scores reasonable, you need 30+ mph winds, or need to grow the rough out so thick / make the greens rock hard that it starts to become (partly) luck vs. rewarding good shots.

I think the scoring at Kiawah was great.  Winner in the -5 to -10 range.  There are -4s, -5s out there if you play well and 75+ will happen in a heartbeat if you are off.

I find the typical -15 to -25 winning score tournaments as not that interesting (on either tour).  I'll watch if there are two names I like to follow (or an epic matchup) but to watch one player out birdie the field doesn't really do it for me.

Look at 18 at the Ocean Course.  I think Phil hit a long iron in the first two days when it was into the wind.  9-iron on Sunday when it was downwind (Koepka hit PW).  A 500 yard Par 4 without hazards or wind is not hard for these guys.  It's probably a driver and a 6-iron for many in the field.
