@uscgolfguyyour post made it seem like you knew the brand well. was complimenting the quality of the glasses. i have the braker model

Yes, they started out as a "Triathlon" company...realized they could make more and higher returns on sunglasses when their first few lines blew up!!!  Their swim shorts are/were great for training and knocked a FULL 5 seconds off of my 100's time.

Good company and products, but need to figure out how we get the Phil USWING Green Readers in our hands!!!  Trying to solve third world problems for us over here...😂

Somewhat surprised at the "S+" iron shafts.

Probably lost a couple mph swing speed in the 10 or so years since he started using kbs X. pros seem to prefer a little softer in the kbs (fowler, rose) furyk uses regular flex kbs i believe.

Interesting to note:

So I heard on the broadcast that Phil replaced his 1 iron for the 4 wood because he cracked his 1 iron head.  But I read from Jonathan Wall that it was actually his Mini Driver that cracked, not the 1 iron.  Phil probably switched out the 1 iron because of the conditions but it's funny how Callaway always finds a way to NOT mention the mini driver.

Is that why the grip on his mini driver didn't look logo up as he would normally have. Pretty sure I noticed that on the final round!

A little softer by name, but not necessarily in spec. The C-Tapers are in a similar league as the PX Rifles with regards to being stiffer to flex, and no one says that the dudes playing PX 6.5's prefer a softer shaft because they aren't playing the 7.0's.

The Mini Driver and 1 iron both cracked. The mini cracked late Saturday and the 1 iron cracked on the range Sunday. He had a back up Mini head but he did not have a backup 1 iron so he had to put the 4 wood in the bag in its place.

I think it's interesting that even a supreme shot making artist like phil is opting to combo from blades in the scoring irons to a utility type iron in the 4/5 iron spot. No X forged or apex pro or anything middle of the road.

I've been toying with the idea of an extreme combo set with a MB or minimal CB type design starting with 7 or 8 iron through wedge and then going with utility or even hybrid type irons for everything else like 4-6 iron.  Just bypass the traditional middle of the road forgiving cavity back all together.  Maximize feel and shot making where you really need it and then after that just high and straight as possible.

It's also about pros playing shafts that help them fit their shot windows. Did an event a couple years ago and Brandt Snedeker played a par-3 with every group and I was looking at his bag and he plays SteelFiber I95s in Stiff and I was shocked (used to assume all pros played 130+ gram rebar). Asked him about why he played such a light iron shaft and he mentioned how it helps him with a higher ball flight as he's a low ball hitter.

Do Tour V's play stiff to flex like C-tapers? I would not know but that's what's listed as his shaft for irons.

And what about the putter? Best I have seen Phil putt in years. So much for face balanced, triple milled, unobtanium inserts. Good old forged steel. Any chance of Odyssey and Wilson making a killing on reissues?

So much for the Claw as well.....He went traditional & putted like vintage Phil with his Vintage putter.

I have the C-taper S+ and I play the 120 DG X100 in my other irons.  The S+ feels a touch stiffer-I like them.

From what I recall, the Tour Vs aren't as stiff, but it's a different EI curve. I think Kim Braley designed the Tour Vs specifically for Phil and having a relatively stiff profile through butt and mid and then a super soft tip area. They were the only wedge shafts I've ever had that produced a stock draw with my wedges.
