Honestly if Bryson thinks that being called Brooksy is harassment then he's soft and needs to find another profession. Guys like Charlie Sifford and Lee Elder were receiving death threats at tournaments in 1960s and 70s. This isn't even that bad and Bryson's just a manchild.

All I'm saying is that compared to what Elder and Sifford faced, the heckling Bryson is receiving is pretty mundane and would be a non-issue if he just ignored it. Even Tiger was receiving threats when he first came out on tour.

I think it's apples and oranges comparison.  Lee speaks of being treated warmly and supportively on the course in that article.  As far a treatment off the course and the loonies making death threats etc, well that's a whole other despicable matter.

 

Again, people need to know that attending a golf tournament and being so close to the action is a PRIVILEGE that requires decorum and respect and that there is no room for buffoonish and disrespectful behavior including heckling.

I’ll never understand people who do things like this.  They’d never do it one on one in the street.  They’re either cowards enjoying anonymity , or it’s the dog vs pack of dogs scenario.  
 

a dog is smart generally.  A pack of dogs are the absolute single minded , and most dangerous creatures on earth pound for pound.    Why ?     They tend to all use one brain.

I get that, but this isn't as big a deal as Bryson is making it out to be. There are a bunch of lunatics at tournaments and dealing with them is a part of it. He needs to just end this feud with Brooks and all of the heckling will go away. He should show up to that match Brooks is having with the guy from Barstool next week and just interact normally around Brooks. That would go a long way in fixing his image with the fans and stopping the heckling.

It's not right for sure, but Bryson could've put an end to this a lot earlier if he didn't make such a big deal out of it. All he needed to do was ignore it and wait for it die down. Instead he goes to the commissioner and complains about it. Good luck finding Bryson a partner for the ryder cup

Absolutely agree that stupid feud needs to end.  I might be wrong but a lot of it was driven the Tours stupid PIP jackpot.  Most of us called it out on day 1 as it would encourage bad behavior.   Overall I just hope the PGA crackdown on fan conduct doesn't stop w/Bryson.

I thought the same thing initially and maybe Brooks/Bryson were onto something bigger and on it together. But that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I think people will forget about it in the off-season, and if Tiger potentially comes back next year all of this will be an afterthought.

Well to be honest. It is a pretty low level thing to say at this point. All they’re doing is showing their stupidity.  Right ?  It’s not clever. Original , and It’s no longer funny.  So ? Why let it continue ? To save the bros feelings ?  Please.  Gtfo would be my response too.  
 

the issue here is just little boys wanting attention.  Men know that words matter. We are taught from a young age where the line is.  For instance if you walk up to a man on the street and insult his wife or himself .  What would you expect ?  Answer is 1. Possible warning.  But 2. You expect to get 5 the hard way. Right ?  I mean that’s just how it is. And should be.  These boys are bypassing that unwritten law.  Knowing he won’t touch them and they’ll sue if he does.  It must be boiled to its simplest terms. Children being out of pocket.  It’s time to put them back into place.

I think Brooks and Bryson should play a 1v1 match in the offseason with fans present and it's open season as far as what the fans can shout. Mic them up and have barstool sponsor it.  The PIP would love it, the fans would love it, and it would attract a ton of eyeballs to the PGA Tour.
