Maxfli Dunlop

Recommended Posts

I've seen the R68s, and I think the R58s are better.

Problem is, mine are too short for me. I been wondering whether to extend, reshaft, or try to shift on Yahoo Auction for over a year now. When I take them out, I just find them too hard to let go of.

Now those MS-11 Customs are new, and I've yet to take them to the course, but I'm really looking forward to doing it. Next round, I think. They're a really great looking head shape.

Interesting note on the shafts. My Maxfli's have a Dunlop Dynamic regular shaft with a TT logo. I'm assuming they're the True Temper Dynamic shafts. They were probably the stock shaft for those irons.

Ping G430 HL 10.5*

Wilson Staff Dyna Power 5 wood
Ping 410 7 wood
XXIO 10 5 Hybrid, Tour Exotics 6 Hybrid
Wilson Staff DynaPower forged 7-GW

Wilson Staff 56*

Wilson Staff 60*

Ping Anser 2 2021 34"

Like Edberg's forehand, my swing is held together with a paperclip and a rubber band.

Mine have that shaft too.  I haven't held them side by side with a TT Dynamic shaft, but I was thinking the same thing.

Dumb question is there a difference between TT dynamic and dynamic gold shafts?

I think the only difference is better weight sorting. With Dynamic Gold, they weight sorted the shafts, so S300 uncut was 129g (going off memory here, may be wrong), S200 was 128g(?), S400 131g or something like that, whereas Dynamic Stiff could be anything between those numbers.

At least, that's the only difference I've heard of.

So I found this chart and I did some rough measurements using my phone and this looks about right for loft. Not sure I’ll keep the 2 iron and 3 iron in the bag, I usually use a 7 wood for my 220-240 range.

Uncut Dynamic regular is probably the same weight as the Dynamic Gold R300, so 127g.

And I agree with @Joe S on how it will play similar to an R300, but perhaps not identical. I can't explain it, but I've a set of Wilsons with Dynamic R shafts, and they don't feel particular soft at all, but I've hit irons with DGR400 shafts, and they felt too soft.

Are those Maxflis parallel or taper?

They don’t feel 127g but maybe i

they’ve been counter weighted, they feel pretty decent, any thoughts on the TT XL hard stepped vs DG X flex.  Any idea what the cut weight on a DG X flex is?

This is the Dynamic step pattern for taper tips.  The parallel shaft has different steps.  So I would say they are taper.

Has anyone played these shafts?

https://www.golfworks.com/true-temper-dynamic-gold-pro-iron-shafts/p/tt0114/

I can hit a 34° 7 iron about 190 and my driver SS is 115ish give or take a few MPH and the day. If I line it up right I can fly a driver around 300 carry, how do the DG Pro S flex play?

127g is the uncut weight. They'll be a bit less after trimming, but I don't think taper tip shafts required as much trimming as parallel.

Honestly the heads and clubs felt pretty light, but I suck at telling the difference unless its a huge difference in shaft weight

It's about 121g cut for a 37.5" club.

Such as I remember reading about them, DG Pro played softer than DG.

If you're not planning on saving the shafts, cut them near the ferrule, use a long shank 1/4" sharp drill bit and shear the pin in half. Then use a 1/8" pin punch with a hammer to drive the remaining pin piece thru the hosel. Heat and remove shaft as usual. The hosel hole can be filled with epoxy.

Catchy what you are describing is the difference between how the shaft was tipped.  One of my tricks for years. The less you tip a shaft the more kick it has on the bottom end and to me it leads to a soft feel and higher launch.

Im pretty terrible at judging weight and flex characteristics I'm not one of those guys who detects subtle changes.

I'm the same, that's why I never go to the trouble of re-shafting any of my old clubs.
