Going to play yellow golf balls...

I have always been a white golf guy, but this last round when I hit the wrong ball, i decided i am going to play yellow balls

 

I bought a dozen yellow  Snell MTB Blacks and yellow AVX's....may get a doz of  yellow Pro v1's

But what if you accidently hit a yellow ball that isn't yours?

Awesome welcome to the yellow club! I've been enjoying the Srixon Soft Feel in taxi cab yellow for the last few years! They are easier to see for sure.

They work well unless you live in a climate where leaves drop in the autumn - then they become difficult to find, even on the fairway.

Easier to spot, more definition at address, mostly the only person in the group using yellow…….I love them !

I made the move to the yellow ball late last year

I like it

esp now that you can find quality yellow balls now too

I made the move this year because I can't follow the flight of white balls with my old eyes anymore ... and I couldn't be happier.

 

I went with Bridgestones (B RX) ... they're the perfect shade of yellow. They're bright enough to stand out in the air and not too dark to get hidden in the grass.

The light green is pretty amazing for being able to find them, and not a lot of other people play them.

I know it doesn't seem like that would be true given the color of grass, but it's really a thing.

I started with yellow, then orange, now red. Orange wins for me, good luck with the yellow.

I suggest keeping a Sharpie in the bag and mark your balls however you see fit.

Looks like the matte ball craze has taken away golf ball choices in glossy yellow, sad. You guys really like matte balls?

i, too, have developed a problem with seeing white golf balls. my wife was using yellow tour softs, which i started playing also. i am going to try te q star tour divide next, but will then go back to maxfli tour in yellow. getting old sucks.....

Yellow ball is pretty easy to spot most of the time. I like playing yellow as a reminder to myself to just have fun

I can’t see the dimples at address with matte balls. And after 30 years - it’s ‘unnerving’ seeing a smooth ball……

The matte balls I’ve played just seem to scuff up really easily. Could just be user error though since I have a tendency to find trees, cart paths and bunkers on a frequent basis

Every time I find a yellow ball and play it for a few holes I abandon it because I think I’m hitting a range ball.

Went to yellow balls a few years back, mainly because I needed a prescription change and I was having a terrible time picking out a white ball against the (often cloud-filled) sky. And being as I was always seemingly the only guy in my group playing yellow, there was never an issue of confusion on who's who.
This year, having got new glasses (I can see!), after the spring when the grass was still dormant (which is another time balls blended in too easily), I switched back to white when the grass greened up.
But I'll still probably go back yellow in the fall as the grass starts dying off, and the optic yellow ones are easier to find in the long grass and scrub offline.

I tried the yellow/red Q Star Tour Divide but didn't like the red part. I thought there was to be a yellow/white version and if I ever see it, I'll give them a try.

I started playing YELLOW when they first came out. That might even be 10 years ago now.??

 

Mostly to easily differentiate from other players balls and particularly for when looking for my ball in the ruff and higher weed areas. A lot more yellow being played now. Think about playing different color, green or orange but they are the matted finish which I wont do.

My 4 pack of pro v arrived the other day in yellow.. so much nicer rolling down the fairway and knowing what ball is mine 

Played on the weekend and all 4 of us hit with in a 10 foot circle on one hole and I didn't have to check to see what ball was mine

I have played yellow for the last year but now my club is using yellow range balls. After losing a couple in a sea of yellow balls, I'm back to white!

There were yellow and orange golf balls in the late 1970's/early 1980's.

It seemed to happen when I broke my long-term favorite (prescription) glasses and had to start playing golf with a new pair. But at some point along the line the yellow balls I prefer quit being easier to see at a distance than white ones. I now find the white ones are actually easier to follow both in the air and especially once they are bouncing and rolling on the fairway or green. Very strange. I used to see the yellow ones *much* better than white.

 

But I still use the yellow Pro V1's because so many guys at my club use white Pro V1's. It's so nice to not have to stop and look for Sharpie marks to figure out which of the balls are mine!

I really like yellow golf balls  and have played them along with a mix in of Callaway Chrome Soft TruVis in various colors over the last few years. My favorite ball right now is the yellow Srixon Q-Star Tour. Most of the time I play my rounds with a buddy and he only plays white Pro V's. I played in a little fun 2 on 2 match today and 3 out the 4 were playing yellow/green   balls. Bridgestone E12 in yellow, Maxfli SoftFli in green and my Q-Star in yellow.

I like white balls for the peak summer season against well grown green grass and yellow for the rest of the year.

I switched back from yellow to white after getting a pair of Oakley prescription dark golf sunglasses. The shading on the glasses made it more difficult to find yellow balls. 
 

When I use my standard prescription glasses (transitions), I could use yellow but I’m not switching back and forth at this time.

Colored balls always feel slightly firmer than white balls to me, at least back in the day. I do think technology has changed now that allows companies to maintain better consistency across different colors. That being said I think yellow titleist balls still feel firmer than the white counterparts
