I have to ask, what did you do when this occurred? ... the first place where this could easily happen that comes to mind is in Pinehurst where the clubhouse is a mere 10 yards over the 18th green of course No. 2. It gets worse too, there's a bar where all the players who've finished up for the day gather and watch everyone finish up for the day. The 9th green is about 10 yards short of the walkway to the clubhouse.  Then a small flower garden. Then large second story windows into the bar/restaraunt.  My shots,  both, went over the green, over the sidewalk, over the flower bed straight at the larger windows off the bar.  They both hit a small pillar just to the right of the windows on the corner of the clubhouse. The first one came back over the flower bed, over the sidewalk, and onto the fringe, easy up and down for the bogie.  The second one ended up in the bushes behind the green. Drop, chip, putt.. Double.  It's scary as hell watching the ball rocket right at those large windows.  I now use more club then needed to easily carry the trap even on a miss hit!!😂 It's a scary hole for me, as the parking lot is just to the right of the clubhouse.

Oh wow, you definitely got a members' bounce! That could have been MUCH worse, irrespective of the score you carded on the hole. 

I'm sure you've gotten the best of that hole since then though!
