I just purchased a mint condition used 2021 Ping fetch putter . Looks great feels great love it but... It won't pick up the ball . The hole seems to big. Is there a gasket or something  in the hole ? I had the original  Fetch and it worked just fine .

Any thoughts ??

Everyone that I tried in the shop worked great. I loved the feel so much that I custom ordered one with a adjustable shaft.  I would contact Ping to see what they can do for you.

Is picking up the ball why you would buy the putter?

Have you tried bending over and picking it up with your hands?

Have you tried buying a product that is marketed and described by the manufacturer to perform a specific task, and then been happy when said product can not perform that task?

From PINGs website...

"Fetch [Platinum]

A distinctive golf-ball-size center hole in this new design allows you to pick up the ball or remove it from the cup with the putter head and not have to bend down. "

I have.

There is nothing like the beat up edge of a hole tat has had a bunch of putters it in trying to pick the ball out. Just bend down and pull the ball out by hand.

^^This exactly. While you’re at it, might as well spit some seeds on the green. Nearer to the hole, the better! 🙄

I thought the Fetch avoids damaging the edges of the hole how it’s designed?

doesn’t make a difference to me, around here covid rules state all flags are to be left in untouched

I only rolled the new Fetch in store but really liked it. From address it looks like a mini Kestch. Feel is much improved over the Sigma line which was way too mushy for my tastes. And they are using Lamkin grips instead of Winn which is another bonus to me. My only wish is the shaft were adjustable but someone else commented it can be custom ordered.

The head doesn’t come close to damaging the hole. At least the Sigma line didn’t. There’s plenty of wiggle room to operate within.

Never have a problem with putters that get the ball out of the hole, my wife has a fancy German-made gizmo that gets the ball out too. See old guys with the suction cup on the nd of the grip also, that works as well, most guys are careful with them.

You spit the disgusting sunflower seed shells all over the green,

you suck ..... Period.

I was fit into the Spider EX and the Fetch at CC.   I liked the look/feel of the Fetch, the $100 lower price tag, and the fact that it could still pick up the ball.  Basically in that order.  Wasn't a top consideration but it was a consideration.

I just wanted to follow up on my 2021 Ping fetch that I ordered with the adjustable shaft.. I placed the order on May 23, and received it today June 08, just 2 1/2 weeks. I'll let you know if I experience any problems picking up the ball.

The Fetch should have zero issues picking up urethane covered balls, it could sometimes have problems with surlyn covered ones.

Unless the Fetch is a knock-off or the OP is playing a round with original Dunlop 65s, I can't see why it wouldn't grip the ball off the turf (I guess some holes would have issues if they have pronounced cups, but the flags aren't coming out anyway).

What happens when you place a ball into the sole? it's too loose? it should hold, unless the balls are too small (or the Fetch's hole is too big).

Ping was of little help . wanted photos and videos , then send it back and they would decide then if they would replace it.

So I called globalgolf and they said to send it back for a full refund which I did . I also bought a new Ping fetch

from them and it works 100% .

Globalgolf were great to work with !

@Old_Lefty: FWIW... i have a old Zen Oracle putter, and found that a bit of Blue-Tac in the sole cavity also helped to improve ability to pick up the ball/ enhance 'stickiness'
