Why does it seem like every PGA player is using a fujikura ventus shafts?

The amount of times I see players pulling out a driver, wood, or hybrid with a fujikura ventus shaft is insane. Did I miss the meeting about how this is the greatest shaft ever made and everyone needs to put it in the bag?

Seriously though, is this something I should go and try at a local fitter? I don't mind hoping on the hype train if there is still room.

I went ADDI to ADIZ to Ventus Blue, all 6s and I have been very pleased with feel, performance and especially flight on the course.  My numbers were not as good inside with Ventus, but it out performs the others on the course, just a middle aged high single digit index.  Worth a try in my opinion and can easily be flipped on here if you hate it.

Because we are suckers for marketing and they are club ho's also but the difference is they get gear for free. You would think that a pro would be hard up to change any club in their bag as their clubs literally affect their paycheck, but many of them change their clubs on the regular looking for lightning in a bottle if they  are experiencing a dip in performance.  This year Ventus, next year it will be another shaft and everyone will go out and buy that as we all know!

Most shafts are variations of similar profiles, with slight tweaks and new materials introduced

The Ventus are REALLY good, good range of feels and stupid good when full optimized for weight/tipping

I think they have a very unique feel, and I've seen really good ballspeed #s with all 3 profiles

They are hot right now.... we will see whats next

Ventus has the reputation of an incredible shaft, maybe even historically good.

It's got incredible tour usage and undying praise in the professional gear community, such as TXG, & WRX current and former personalities, etc.

I haven't tried one yet as they're quite expensive, but I'm constantly considering getting fitted for one in my Mavrik.

I think this is way off the mark.  First of all, pro’s don’t change anything unless they find something different that they feel will give them a better chance to win, and they don’t make the change without fully testing it.

club hos on the other hand but the hype yearly in pursuit of 5yards or more, better flight, many things.  This shaft properly fit is IMO, well worth the coin.

I'll also add that the Tour Pro's try to optimize EVERYTHING, with that being said most of the guys performing the best over the past 4+ years rarely change their driver, 3,4,5 & 7 wood shafts unless that new shaft out performs their current gamer and they have a massive amount of confidence making the change. Those in the 100-200 range searching for their game will make changes to help find their game. Nothing different then us WRX'ers!

The Ventus shaft is so visible and popular because it flat out performs as advertised and as the Tour Pros DEMAND of their equipment.

Totally agree.  The black and blue do not fit this late release guy.  The red however is the Goldilocks shaft.

I think a LOT of guys would fit into the red profile, but seems the Red color has always been the “weak” shafts of manufacturers with HIGH spin and launch.  With the Ventus, it MAY be that way, but it works better than any other iteration of Black/Blue/Red I’ve ever used from other manufacturers. ( Diamana /Matrix, etc)

Yep.  It’s anything but weak.  It does launch a tad higher. But spin stays down.   I could play black.  But. I just don’t hit up on it enough to launch it. If I played links golf though. Black it would be. I’d get 100 yards of roll 😂

I find the Ventus to feel heavy in the hands, clunky-snap/thump feel and pretty awful for late release guys. Which feels/sonds to me, more like a Dynamic Gold steel iron shaft feel in a Graphite shaft. Since most PGA players play X100 it makes sense the driver shaft that feels the same is doing well.

Interesting to hear you say that Mark.  I'm a late release guy and the Ventus Black is money for me.  Good numbers on trackman but what really sold me was that my dispersion pattern was tighter.  I'm not a big feel guy anyway.
