Why does it seem like every PGA player is using a fujikura ventus shafts?

That’s why I love the black tho is that it’s very low spin and stout but doesn’t feel like it. I don’t feel I have to swing hard to load it in the least where other “stout” shafts feel like rebar. It’s like an x stiff with a stiff feel. Not sure how they do it because it’s low torque as well and usually that takes feel away. Love this thing

Fuji could probably explain better but here is my take on it.  While the black is very stiff in the tip and butt, it's a little softer in the mid section, therefore you still get a tiny bit of kick.  Most stout shafts seem to have stiffer mid sections as well with a softer butt.  Also, the materials used in the Ventus also seem to help with feel as well.  The black checked off all the boxes for me.  Usually a really stout shaft with no kick is going to feel like a telephone pole whereas the opposite tends to be true as well.

How are you liking that new Accra RPG?

Follow up.  After adding quite a bit of weight to the head I’ve turned this combo into quite a strong unit.  10 gram weight in the  rear plus  lead tape to feel.  Finally got it to feel right.  And the performance jumped dramatically as soon as it felt right.  Will be on course in the morning.  And from what I saw this evening , it’s the longest thing I’ve hit to date.

I think this shaft is somewhat counterbalanced.  Which I’ve never got along with.  Not without a heavy head to balance it out ( example ping g410 with tensei pro orange )

I made the ventus switch (black 6x) and proceeded to have the best driving month in my life. Small layoff, and got in a funk, and started doubting the setup. Turns out it was just my swing. Its a great shaft, maybe my favorite or tied with motore vc tour spec,  but you still gotta swing it (correctly).

I gamed the Ventus Blue 6X for the full season last year, then becoming a TXG groupie had me chase the Autoflex hype and then the build a beast had me chase the Tensei 1K 50TX to gain a few more MPH ball speed from the Ventus Blue 6X.

Those two hype trains didn’t work for me as well as some others, but the latest hype of the Ventus Black 5X becoming available at a few places changed everything. Had 2 practice sessions and my first full round with it this past Sunday and I had my best driving round I’ve had in quite some time. Absolutely loving it!

In what way did you have to adjust?

I’m not very shaft sensitive but the Red was noticeably stiffer in the handle than what I was used to and didn’t feel “right”. First round I hit a bunch of pulls and then a huge block on 18.

After that I started hitting it straighter but still struggled to find the sweet spot. Gradually got used to the feel and found the timing with this shaft and now I find the middle of the face much more often and the shaft feels right.

I need the super stiff handle for my take away and then love the kick the Red 6S Velocore provides swinging 80%. Blue was sloppy with the softer handle, and black was great for me and if I had a spin my driver could definitely game her. With the red in my current driver I am getting perfect 2300-2500 spin on 13 launch. LOVE Velocore Red!

Played a Graphite Design Tour AD DI Black in a 7X & 8X in my driver and 3 Wood for years. Made the switch to Ventus Blue 6X, 7X and even the 9X HB in my hybrid this season and couldn’t be happier with them. Even pondering getting a 10X HB in my Callaway X forged UT driving iron they are so good.

They have been every bit as good as I have heard and my driving accuracy has been much improved. Definitely worth a try!

Thanks.  So the AV raw white has more kick?   I have the Ventus Black and I wouldn't necessarily say it feels like rebar, but feel is subjective.  I've tested the proto 2.0, but never the regular white raw which is why I'm asking.

I think a LOT of guys would fit into the red profile, but seems the Red color has always been the “weak” shafts of manufacturers with HIGH spin and launch.  With the Ventus, it MAY be that way, but it works better than any other iteration of Black/Blue/Red I’ve ever used from other manufacturers. ( Diamana /Matrix, etc)

I am playing the red in my driver, granted it is tipped towards the mythical "purple" status (1-3/4"), but it has made my Epic Max LS even better than it was before.  My bad swings I still get away with(well most of them) and my good ones are amazingly good.  Callaway heads are historically light, so I did add some lead tape and am playing around with it until I decide on how much weight to add and then will buy another track weight.

I have always been more of a tipped low flex point guy though, I loved the GD Purple Ice for years in my drivers.

Doesn't matter the color, Fujikura Ventus Velocore is an amazing shaft.  So amazing, I bought one for my wood.

What really surprised me was some tour guys are even using Red series in driver, like me.   Since buying Ventus Red, 5 series (59g-S), I've hit some amazing drivers, longer than guys much younger, and in the fairway.  My dispersion has always been somewhat low, but with Ventus it's negligible.  It's about the Velocore.  I came from Fujikura Fuel Tour Spec 60, and prior Project X6C12 Tour Issue; Ventus Red is better. 🙂

Damn, if only Ventus Black 5 series showed up, I'd buy one.

Similar to my experience but so far I've only made the plunge with the driver.  Was playing a TSi3 9* at 46" with a AD DI 6x tipped 1" - then moved over to the Ventus Black 6x (same length, but no tipping).  Really saw an improvement in dispursion - now going to tip it 0.5" and see how it plays at 45.5".

I play mine at 45” and tipped mine 1.5” based off of a master fitter with Taylormade’s recommendation. Literally seem less from my M3 with AD DI 7X I played since it came out. Love the Ventus in my 3W & 3H so much that I’m ordering a 10X HB blue for my driving iron.

The amount of times I see players pulling out a driver, wood, or hybrid with a fujikura ventus shaft is insane. Did I miss the meeting about how this is the greatest shaft ever made and everyone needs to put it in the bag?

Seriously though, is this something I should go and try at a local fitter? I don't mind hoping on the hype train if there is still room.

He's using his ole' trusty KK now.  Ironically, he won with the Ventus Black at Quail Hollow and the Tour Championship last year if I remember correctly.  Ventus Black is a great shaft but I think he could've done better in the dispersion department had he gone 7x instead of 6x, but I don't have access to his launch monitor numbers.
