PRGR vs. SC300 (used)

Recommended Posts

I have a net and mat set up in my garage and I just ordered the Max Swing Speed training club.  Now I am in the market for a launch monitor. I was set to order a PRGR unit and then I came across a used SC300 for the same $200 price.  Any advice on which unit I should get. Here are my needs:

- I need to measure club head speed without the ball. I'm not sure if the SC300 can do that

- I am not an IPhone user so the SC300 app would need to work with my droid.

- This will mostly be an indoor toy rather than at the range.

Thanks

SC300 cannot measure club speed without a ball. I've asked them if they plan to add that feature, like on the SC200+, but they do not appear to have any plans to do so for either the SC300 or SC300i.

So the SC200 plus can do the swing speed without hitting a ball? They are reasonably priced as a refurb.

I bought a new PRGR. But there's at least one used PRGR on FB marketplace.

Do you like it? Work pretty well even taking a divot?

Unfortunately I'm not taking divots yet so I don't know about that. And I've only used it hitting into a net so I cant vouch for the accuracy of the distance reading. But I bought it mainly for the club head speed and those readings are at least consistent. Whether they are accurate or not, I don'tknow.

But it seems well made and it gets good reviews.

The PRGR is a great tool for over speed training. The launch monitor data is just an added plus.  I just started my over speed training and I’m enjoying my PRGR. As you stated the readings are consistent which is just fine for me.

Just wanted to throw my two cents in.

I purchased a PRGR a few months ago, I use it primarily on the range and I have found it to be very accurate for the price. It struggles with high short wedge shots but other than that it is very valuable and helpful. (Did I mention the price 😉
