Calling all San Diegans

My wife and I are taking our first trip to San Diego.  No golf, and we're staying in the Gaslamp area.  Any recs on what to do, where to eat, or what we can skip?

Check out petco park if the Padres are in town or even just to check out the park at the park. 
 

Coronado beach is a must as well.

What do you like to do? I’d recommend the zoo, snorkeling La Jolla Cove, Scripps Aquarium, a harbor cruise, kayaking, etc but I know many have zero interest in those and would rather do things I’d pass right by without a second thought like a spa day, shopping or a knitting museum. Help us out - what tickles your pickle?

Going to the zoo, the Midway, harbor cruise sounds good, we're doing tourist stuff, but we're too old for snorkeling or kayaking.  Kind of dipping our toe back into traveling.

Trip up to the Scotty Cameron Gallery in Encinitas would be nice.  Though still no people allowed inside.  “Window shopping” only where they let you look and they’ll bring it out for you.  
 

Hiking at Torrey Pines State Reserve is nice. Lots of nice little trails, great views.

San Diego has some great eateries...just pick your cuisine (American, Ethnic, fast, etc.). Little Italy and Coronado are great strolling areas for food and ambiance. The gas lamp is fun too but pre-pandemic it was more of a place you’d go for a late night bar crawl. As mentioned in a prior post, if you like hiking then Torrey Pines State Park is nearby and it’s hard to miss with the San Diego Zoo or Balboa Gardens.

You'll get tons of hits. It's gotten out of control. Police can't do anything until after the fact. People are starting to get seriously hurt. Crazy.

Head over to Point Loma and try the many restaurants, head to Del Mar after hiking Torrey Pines and see why San Diego is special.
