Alabama RTJ Trail Week of June 21st....any takers?

Planning on taking a few days off the week of June 21st.....would be cool to meet some fellow WRXers and play some golf. Looking at either Silver Lakes or Hampton Cove.....anyone interested?  
 

Live in north Atlanta burbs and will play anywhere really. 
 

I’m a solid 6 HDCP....don’t care if you drink, play music, get hammered, throw clubs, or if you follow every rule in the book as if your life depends on it....if you can play fast and not take yourself too seriously.....then send me a PM and let’s play some golf!

I live within a reasonable distance of both, but have a strong preference for Hampton Cove Highland's. However I'm actually going to be on a work vacation that week of which I'll be staying at the Marriott Capitol Hill.

 

Would have been interested otherwise.

 

Never played RTJ Capitol Hill. Don't know if I can fit it into the schedule for the week but I'll probably try.

I might be able to play that Thurs or Friday, especially if you end up at Hampton Cove.

I lived in Prattville for years and was a member out at Capitol Hill.  If you can only play one resist the Judge and play Senator.  It's also the course where the hotel sits on 17.  Judge can be brutal greens are tricky and water everywhere.  First hole on Judge was once rated hardest opening hole in country.

Having played the Judge.... the first hole is hard do to the "doomed" fairway aspect when it starts to narrow down...!!  *Actually liked the course but that opening shot torqued me LOL  

 

We played 3 or 4 tracks on a RTJ trip a few years back.  At the Judge, I rip a 3 wood down the middle left as it narrows and watch is take an "odd bounce" and then roll left towards the path....then trickles over the path into the marsh.  It was like watching a bad train wreck in slow motion.    I had never played the course and or knew the fairway did that but yardage was perfect with the elevation drop. I will never agree if you can hit a near perfect shot into a narrowing fairway you should get penalized.

 

Granted played some Dye tracks that do that..... but not RTJ.

 

Side note: it was during a dry spell and it was pretty firm, had I known I would of hit a hybrid short to the fat area

@CDM, we actually decide to hit driver at green and hope to hit land so we could drop and play for a 5.  Your scenario happened to me many times...so yes unless wind was bad I would lay back to wide part but then scary second shot!
