I drank the Kool Aid... It's Kirkland flavored

Well I drank the Costco Kool Aid, Kirkland flavored.  My new ball stock(Callaway Diablo Tour) has diminished and I needed to order new.  I decided that since i'm cheap yet want to play a "better" ball I would take the Ksig jump.  I just ordered 2 boxes/4 dozen from Costco and they will be delivered approx. tomorrow (coming from 1 hour away).  Wish me luck.  As all the reviews and YouTube videos have suggested that these are as close as you can get to a Pro V.  I have actually never tried or used one of these before so I am hoping they work out.  I like the $1-ish per ball category!!!

Welcome to the cult!  I have been using them since March.  A guy in our Sunday mens group, who is a 7 hcp, uses them as his gamer and switched from ProV1.  Depending upon how many cart paths and trees you hit or if you totally blade your wedges, their durability is about 85%-90% of what a PV1 is.  I've played a full 18 with the same ball with only some normal scuffs you would expect to see no matter what ball.

My son is very happy that I've stocked up on 4 double dozen (7 doz remaining/LOL) since he is getting my stock of 3 doz Diablo Tours, 3-15ct. boxes of TF D2-Feels and 1 dozen of 2020 TF Gamer.  My "Gamer" for Sunday mens group is usually either ProV1 or TP5.  As soon as they run out, the Ksig 3.2 will be taking over those duties.

I haven't bought Kirkland balls myself but I have found a few around the course and used them for a few holes.  It's a very decent ball.  Its performance and durability is right up there with the Pro V1s, Z-Stars, ChromeSofts, and TP5s.

Version 2 of the 3 piece.  From my understanding the version 1 of the 3 piece had issues.

I'm looking forward to them.  I'm hoping that they are what i'm looking for.  The Callaway Diablo Tour was surprisingly a great ball and I really liked them a lot but they were always just missing that little something for shortgame.  I'm hoping these are the something I have been looking for.  It will be nice to be able to stay brand specific with a quality ball on a budget.

V1 of the 3 piece didn't have any problems. The problem ball was V2 of the 4 piece. Some people got balls that had covers that weren't properly fused I guess, and would pretty much rip off after one or two hits. I got a double dozen and they were fine, but they refunded everyone's money. If you like the 3 piece, you should have tried the OG 4 piece, unreal ball! Longer than a ProV1, better spin, great durability. The V3 of the 4 piece is due any day now we're guessing, keep your eyes open.

If they came from Costco, it's the V2.  I believe the V1 has been phased out unless you happen to find some old stock in a store (when the V2 first came out, the first time I saw them was on a pallet in a store and they refused to open is since they still had V1 on the shelves).

It's not about "brand name snobbery", it's about economics. If I choose to shop at Costco rather than mom and pop shops, the smaller shops suffer.

Neither may make the items they sell, but the money spent is better distributed at the smaller shop. Yes, I pay 20% or more, but if I don't, as well as others, you will only be left with what WalMart sells.

So my money goes to the company who's name on the ball matters most to me. My Lazrus wedges didn't cost any more or less than the Costco wedges. Neither Costco nor Lazrus made the wedges they sell, but the money I spent at Lazrus makes a larger impact.

Maybe it is consumer snobbery in that I try to support the companies that I feel need it the most while getting what I need. I would be disappointed if the only place I could get golf balls was Costco. They don't even offer an orange ball.

Fair enough, but you didn’t say anything about this in your cute post about toilet paper. That post was just about brand snobbery.

I don't buy my golf balls or toilet paper at Walmart for the same reason. Has little to do with the brand at all, actually.

Costco at least pays employees appropriately, so they do get some of my money, just not my golf related money.

You can still find them at some stores which is why I asked. Someone else(not sure if here or on reddit) bought a bunch of boxes recently not realizing they were the first version.

Little Update...

They came yesterday.  I was very intrigued to see with the eye ball test just how they looked.  Let me say, they passed with flying colors.  They looked like a premium ball.  They did not have that plasticy sheen to them.  I felt like I was opening a sleeve of ProV or TP5.  They "fingernail softness test" (you all do it too) felt just like any premium ball out there.  I'm hoping to play tomorrow and sunday morning.  I will come back here with my first impression compared to the Callaway that I normally play with.  I must say, I'm looking forward to it!

So you'd buy Kirkland balls if they were sold at a mom and pop store?  That's fair, but NOT what you said in your post.  Your comment was about who MADE them, not who sold them.

Besides, I'm not sure what "mom and pop" options I even have for buying golf balls.  You said you'd play Bridgestone.  Which I could buy at Dicks / Golf Galaxy, PGA Superstore, Target, Walmart.  None of them are exactly owned by the old couple on the corner.  I really don't see the distinction between buying in one of those places over Costco, especially when those places will charge what the market will bear (a concept I have no problem with BTW), where Costco has strict limits on markups to keep prices down.  Costco is simply willing to take less profit on the balls to drive membership sales.

Al that said, I do agree I wish there were color options on the Kirkland balls.  Maybe some day.

I corrected my original post because only some of the ball companies even make their own ball.

I don't play balls labeled Kirkland because I want the ability to play balls not labeled Kirkland in the future.

Does that make more sense?
