San Gabriel Country Club // Caddies

Recommended Posts

I was looking at joining as a junior at San Gabriel CC, but it sounds like they require caddies on the weekend even if you're just playing as a single. They also allow 5somes, which concerns me about pace of play. Does anyone have a sense of how big of a deal this would be to squeeze in a quick round, and any background on the club generally? Otherwise it seems like a very good club and maybe I'm overthinking this as an issue?

Sorry, I don't have answers to your questions, but if you are interested in the club, both of those are great things to find out during the application process.  Even a club like San Francisco GC bowed to pressure from younger members to allow non-caddie play in the afternoons, so your concerns are valid.  I sure wouldn't want to have to take a single bag caddie for a solo round.  And pace of play is important...find out what the target pace is for members.
