Get rid of them all. The crowds will be much better. The same ones trying to be cool for their “bros” on social media are the same trash that will yell other idiotic crap.

Eliminate them all.

1000 % agree.    I don’t blame him , I just wish they’d throw out the other idiots too. Anyone who drags knuckles low enough to yell craziness out in public should  get a ride to the padded cell.  It’s truly a weird happening to me. I cannot imagine doing it. Just can’t.  I’ve never been that drunk.

This is one of the MANY reasons I love golf.

Lots of people clutch their pearls when someone from the crowd shouts something at a golf tournament.

In darn near EVERY other sport, the fans yell and scream whatever they like.  This is considered acceptable.  I have seen fans at MLB and NFL (especially NHL)  games hurl horrible racist, homophobic, sexist, and xenophobic insults at players.   No one blinks.  Beers are passed around.  Life moves on.  Flowers bloom, the cat gets fixed, and the pot-hole on your street doesn't get fixed.

The only other sport that I can think of that somewhat follows the PGA model is Pro Tennis.

I find the whole double-standard so funny and strange.  I don't think it is right or wrong, just strange.  This would be a great sociology thesis question.

I guess both these guys have plenty of empty space in their heads for each other.

Thank you !   Anybody claiming Bruce has the upper hand in this intellectual battle of nitwits , hasn’t been paying attention.  .  Its a lot like watching the movie step brothers.  You’re not sure if anyone will survive.  And you’re not sure you what them to.  😂

I’m highly positive that bryson was teased quite a bit while growing up

In your post (in the snip below) you selected one sentence from my post, thus removing the context.

Being multi-racial, I believe Tiger probably faced pressures that Bryson did not.

However, I agree with your overall premise that Bryson was most likely teased throughout his youth.

How is shouting "Brooksie" something that requires removal from the premises? Unless it's being done during a swing, I don't get it. It's not vulgar or offensive. At worst it's annoying but so is shouting "Get in the hole" after tee shots on a par 4 or 5, or the mashed potatoes/baba booey crowd, and those people don't get kicked out.

I've heard mixed stories on if this is happening or not. But yelling "mashed potatoes" and such us just general nonsense. We are talking about actively trolling a specific individual. If someone followed around a specific golfer and yelled specific taunts at them that is a completely different scenario than "get in the hole" IMO and has no place in golf. If someone was following Tiger around and yelling the names of mistresses every time he hit would that be appropriate? If someone yelled "cheater" every time Reed hit a ball would that be ok? I don't think it's appropriate at all. Go watch WWF if you want to do that stuff.

No one is inferring Bryson had racial pressure. The Tiger reference is because he always said his dad yelled at him during his backswing to toughen him up.

You don’t start talking to a golf pro directly while he’s working. Much less intentionally annoy the guy.

To me that’s clear enough and the guys who thought they’d be class clown for the day got to do a nice walk of shame out to the parking lot instead of enjoying a golf tournament.

The way toc quoted my post out of context, he actually was drawing a parallel between the pressures faced by Bryson and Tiger.

If I have to say it again, I'm sorry.  I only mention this because I believe in honoring our past, and our elders.

We can learn so much from our collective past mistakes if only we, as a people, join together to right the wrongs of our fathers.

There can only be one response to the nightmare of our times.....

So shouting "Go Tiger" after Tiger Woods hits a shot requires removal? That is talking directly to a pro while he is working.

I'm really embarrassed that the PGA Tour allows people to be kicked out of tournaments for having the gall to shout a person's name. It reinforces the ivory tower, country club, stuffy reputation that golf has.

Well, you could make an impassioned case to, well I’m not sure to whom exactly.

🤣

All good, MT. To me it’s clear that BD is well within reason to have people yelling “Brooksy” at him tossed out the gate.

It’s got zero parallel to people cheering with a “go Tiger”. It’s more inline with Phil tossing a guy who called him FIGJAM.

Best to just keep to cheering out there. No room for heckling in golf as far as I’m concerned.

Now, other sports? That’s different.  Jeez, I can’t even tell you the chants that the bleacher bums used to taunt right fielders from opposing team at Yankee stadium. Make a sailor blush ; )

I will be at the Ryder Cup and will be sure to shout "Brooksie!" after Bryson's shots. And if I get kicked out I won't care because I'm getting in for free.

Although I don't think I will get kicked out because the Ryder Cup staff has more important things to police.

I don’t like either of these two golfers and the fans shouldn’t be yelling pointless BS anyway. I haven’t missed it when the fans have been away. Furthermore Bruce shouldn’t be encouraging them

What I can take from all of this is:-

a) Bryson is clearly the kid that could give stick but not take any. It was ok for him to make snide comments going past Koepka but then can’t deal with the results.

b) Bryson is a liar. To claim he knew nothing about fans being thrown out is a lie.

c) This could upset the team in the Ryder cup if this carries on.

d) I’m starting to believe the suggestions Bruce and brooksy are trying win the $40m to share.

I’ve gone back to watching the Euro tour since the fans came back, as you have less Neanderthals to deal with.

The counter viewpoint to that is that it’s not stuffy.  Ivory tower , nor country club exclusive to have good manners in public.

"Good manners in public" to the ivory tower stuffy crowd means wearing a collared shirt that is tucked in. No jeans. No cargo shorts. No shirts without a collar. No music on the course. No hats worn indoors. It's just how you want to define "good manners." I'm saying this restrictiveness is hurting the PGA Tour--not helping it. I think shouting a name is harmless shenanigans. People here act like it's a crime against humanity.  I think those people are wrong and if the PGA Tour wants to grow their product they need to lighten up.

And kicking people out of a sporting event for shouting a name? This is America, man--not the Soviet Union. This is the land of the free and home of the brave. We've suffered enough tyranny in the last year. This has to stop!

Yea you never see great shots from literally the best players in the world. Wth are you talking about

Driver...wedge....driver...wedge...driver...wedge...it’s a complete bore-fest.

Fairways are typically 60 yards across and they still cannot hit the short stuff a lot of the time. Only defence is stupid green speeds. It turned me off watching the PGA Tour a long time ago and now the European Tour is being dragged down the same path.

PGA Tour has dumbed the game down to the lowest level possible to attract the maximum possible dollar. This ‘manufactured’ spat between two crass individuals who are the ‘future’ of the game is what you get. They’ve worked out that you need something to talk about as the golf itself is so boring.

Unfortunately I think you’re the only one seeing that. Why would anyone think a white guy names Bryson deShambeau faced racial pressure in Texas?? Serious question? Is is our inherent hate for French people??
