SIM Max vs SIM2 Max

I am torn between the SIM Max driver versus the SIM2 Max driver. If anyone can offer their experiences with both drivers, I would greatly appreciate your feedback. I do see more SIM2 drivers for sale on the board than SIM drivers.

I thought there was a big difference in sound. Hard to explain but I personally preferred the SIM max.

Love my SIM Max.  Very little (if any) difference to “upgrade” to the SIM2 Max if fitted correctly.

I would recommend going somewhere and getting numbers on both of them before betting on a recommendation..

 

In my experience there was a sizable difference between the two.. When fit last year SIM 10.5 turned down to 8.5 put me @ 12 launch/2200 spin and almost eliminated that left miss..  Max spun well over 3000..

Sim2 sounds and feels softer. Still super hot but just a different sound and feel. 
 

I personally like it. 
 

sim2 is more neutral flight to me. I am playing it at a lower loft and in the upright setting. Dead straight bombs. Sim was much more fade biased, even when in the upright setting

I agree.  I have an OG SIM as well.  I can play either but have the SIM 2 as my gamer because it feels better off the face and launches a hair lower.  Very similar distance wise off the tee.  For me the SIM is just a touch more fade biased but I can still turn it over with ease.  I may just go back to the OG SIM once my ball striking improves.  I'm working on fading the ball now and I have an easier time pulling that off with the OG SIM.

Have been playing the Sim Max dialed down slightly for the past two months. As has been suggested there is a bit of a fade bias but that is what I was looking for. Can still turn it over when needed. Great ball flight and feel off the face. Even on miss hits.

Did a fitting with both and decided to go with the Max. I got nearly identical numbers out of both but far better dispersion from the Max. I also found that the Max sounded more muted at impact on center hits and much quieter on off-center hits. 
 

The difference between the models this year are much less than last years SIM. The original SIM was 5 to 10 yards longer than the SIM2 or SIM2 Max but the spin is much more consistent this year therefore way more forgiving and predictable. With my SIM last year I’d get the occasional slight high toe shot that would go for miles then I’d venture another 1/4” further toe side and it would turn into this low spin snapper or a twist-face adjusted high push.

Friend just put a black sim2 max in the bag and it looks and sounds great.   But it doesn’t add much else to the equation.   
distance - dispersion over cost.   Had the sim max well ahead.

If I played the SIM Max I would at least demo the SIM2 standard. More forgiving than the OG SIM and I hit it longer than SIM2 MAX.
 

I would say the SIM2 standard is as forgiving as the SIM MAX.

I hit both ; close , sim 2 max 8% larger face slight more forgiveness , sold me , they where close + 2 AOA even paired with an off the shelf x flex hzd blue shaft @ 116 mph 2,000 - 2,200 rpm , wasn’t like the max was 3k spin .  Felt great , but I’m a player that doesn’t like 1900 rpm knuckle ball 

 

Focus on hit up even more to the 3/4 aoa and it get to 2000 with the sim2 max

Does anyone have any idea why there are so many SIM Max Drivers and Fairway Woods being cleared out everywhere, but not standard SIM?

 

I’m in Canada, so not sure it’s the same situation in the States…but here the market looks flooded with SIM Max for some reason.
