All things equal, do UT irons fly higher/land softer than long irons?

I will add the i500 is hot hot hot.  I have 5-U and a G410 20* crossover.  I actually tweaked the lofts on the 5i 2* strong and the 6i 1* strong to cover the gaps at the long end of my bag, and if you got a 3i i500 I assume its a missile launcher.

At 18*, the 3i would for sure be a hot faced club.  If it suited the spot, I would possibly replace my TS3 hybrid for that loft, but I prefer the versatility of that hybrid/shaft combo for me.  For some reason the T1100 (stock not after market, haven't tried one of those out yet) just works for me.

But could see the I500 3i being a close modern replacement from the older Rapture DI in feel/sound (for me anyway).

Generally speaking I would say yes

It will depend on what you are playing now and the construction of the utility.   Lower CG will help with launch and spin and a hollow face construction will also help a little bit but just

Agree with above.  P790 and u500 are just a couple of examples of UT irons that are low spin because of the more compact profile.  Zx utility and x forged UT I find to launch and spin a little more.

Oh I bet it would be.  I've tried 100x to get a hybrid in my bag at that 19* spot, but the best I've been able to do is replace my 3w with a 17* opened up a degree, then the 3 Crossover for teeballs/punches almost exclusively.

SIM2 - G410 LST - something random - G410 Crossover 20* - i500 5-W (5i 2* strong, 6i 1* strong) - MD 52*, PM 58* & 64* - F22

On two different occasions with different shafts I tried the 410 DI out and just couldn't make it work (long time Rapture DI user as well).  At the time, the I210 4i just out performed it.  And while that could have just been a comfort/familiarity thing, you have to go with what works.

Haven't tried the 425 out, but also haven't found a reason to since adding in the I500.

The i500 is working out better for u then your i210 4i did?

What shaft do you have in the i210? Things to consider...

You might softstep the shaft, or go to the next lighter weight shaft in the family.

I gained peak height with a good decent angle over the I210 4i to go into greens if needed but kept the loft stronger.  So I figure it was a win/win for me as I can just choke down if I needed a shorter yardage and still get a bit more from the stronger loft.
