Wedges... mixed bag or all the same brand?

I've gone both ways with it. I've done all the same, but I usually end up with a mixed bag of wedges. If I'm carrying all of them, I have my AP2 PW, a Vokey 52°, a PING 56° and a SCOR 60°. That said, I'd also be perfectly fine playing all the same again. Just depends on what I like and what I'm feeling at that time.

All my wedges (not including PW) are from Scratch Golf.  In my bag are a 52° GW (bent to 50°)a 56° SW (bent to 54°) and a 58° LW.  I have a spare LW (same model) with a different Modus shaft curing right now. Going to see how the wedge shaft works.

So I have recently gotten back into the specialty wedges as I have played set wedges forever.  I currently have all Vokey wedges, 3 SM6 and 1 SM7.  I was wondering, does everyone stick with the same brand of wedges for consistency or is it a hodge-podge/mixed bag when it comes to wedges?  I am very happy with my Vokey set I have now, but just wondering what other do?

Mikey--- I always say play what works for your game whether it is matching wedges or as you put it a hodge podge mixed set. Since I am more or less old school I only carry 2 wedges. Right now I am gaming TM TP cavity backs but I have that set wedge along with one of my old trusty 588s. As SOP for me I only carry 11 or 12 clubs. Now I will admit on courses here that have real fluffy greenside bunkers I may slip my Ping Zing SW or a 588 60* in the bag. Like I said I am the odd man out on WRX but I just thought I would put my .02 in FWIW. There is no one set in stone way to properly swing or play this game and that goes for equipment too

Ideally, I'd rather look down and see the same shape to the clubhead and leading edge on all my wedges. So I've usually had three or four of the same brand and model wedge. At times I've even used the GW, SW and LW from my iron set.

At the moment I have three wedges, two are the same model and third is different. Doesn't cause any problem really but it's not how I've done things in the past. It's only because the three lofts I wanted were not all available in the same model.

Mizuno MP68 PW 47°, Cleveland 588 forged 52° and 58°.

I also have a 588 in 56°.  I'm debating strengthening the 52° to 50°, and weakening the 58° to 60° when my new iron set comes in.  The new iron set is MP20 with a 46° PW.  So, that would give me a 4° gap all the way through.  I'm one club short overall, so its either that or another long iron.  Not sure.  I like how versatile the 58° is.

Evidently I'm a sucker for a pretty face. Waiting on the set AW wedge, but since there is no SW or LW in ZX7 (at least in the US), I tried a couple of different options and historically didn't like 60* wedges but here I am. The 56S showed up yesterday - first session was ridiculously good. So final (ha!) setup will be ZX7 46* PW, 51* AW and Fourteen RM-4 56S and 60H forged wedges. I will say that the feel seems consistent between ZX7 and RM4 even though the ZX7 has Recoil 95R and the RM4 has Nippon N.S.PRO TS-101w steel shaft (which seems to mate really well with the forged head).

So not necessarily brand loyalty, but feel loyalty (mmm, forged...)

Right now, I'm playing a mix. I'm playing a three-wedge set up now: PW, GW, SW/LW, and each has a particular function, so I don't mind them not being the same.

PW is the set PW, I like it relatively weak, and I'm currently bagging Srixon Pro 100s with a 48* PW. This is a 130-yard max club for me, but also needs to be a chipper.

GW: I've got a couple of choices here, but with the Pro 100s, I'm bagging an old Maxfli Tadd Moore 53*. It is a 115~100 yard club, but also needs to be a chipper.

SW/LW: I've gone back to my old Callaway MD2 T-grinds, either the 58*, or a 56* bent to 57* Slightly prefer the 57* because I like the extra bounce. This 100 yards and in (rarely use it for the full 100y, though), and needs to be very versatile. I like the sole relief of the MD2 T-grinds for bunkers.

Previously, I was playing Cleveland RTX 4 Forged wedges, 52* and 58*, but I never fell fully in love with the 52*, and I didn't like the 58* for flops and full shots. Great for bunkers and in-betweeners, though.

Looking at getting Bridgestone or Fourteen or Callaways Jaws Forged wedges in the future, but there's a backlog at the moment, which is why I've gone back to some older wedges.

My gap wedge is from the iron set

54* Callaway CB

58* Cleveland CBX 2 full face

I use to play the same set. a set of Volkeys

Then I played the CBX and it was so easy to hit, automatic from the sand

I broke the shaft in my CBX and when I went to to replace it, the Callaway CB was on sale

Been playing the different set ever since

I am getting use to it as each different club in my hand makes me think about the shot I want to hit with that club.

Just ordered a Maltby LE 52 so I will be mixed at least for now. But $60 with the same shaft as my irons is silly to pass up if they don't suck.
