What three wedges do you roll with? P, Sand, Lob, Gap? Or do you go all 4?

Unless you've bent T200 PW , the loft is 43*

Oppps.... yes, you are 100% correct on that --- big fat typo.... I will correct this in my original post...

I go 47-51-55-60. I'm considering dropping the 60 for a 62 or 64 to be used in greenside scenarios!

Both sets I use have 46 degree PW (Z945 and MP5), then I go 50/54/58.

I like making full swings (or close to full swings) on my approach shots and find that this wedge set up gives me that ability most often.

Play in Calgary so the ball definitely flies a little longer than those of you closer to sea level, which means I am using 1 of the 4 wedges more often than not on par 4s.

The other side of this coin is what you need on the other end of the bag. I personally dont struggle with distance so I go 4i, 3i (18) - more tee option, and 16 degree Hybrid / 4 wood than driver. Others who may need more distance club options wouldnt be able to run the 4 wedge set up, which is all good too! Lots of ways to make par!

Three.

This would be the 52, 56, and 60 (and formerly a 64, too). These are the clubs that I use for what I consider my "wedge game".  Meaning I can go from full shots to short chips and specialty shots (sand, flop, etc...)

For me my 47* PW is only a "wedge" because there's a W stamped on the bottom of the club. It's really a regular "fullish" swing club for me. It might as well be called a 10 iron.

Like many, I was taught to chip using many different clubs - from 7i through the 60*. But, for the past couple of decades, I've abandoned that. Faced with a long chip or pitch, I'd just rather fly it a bit farther onto the green. For the courses I play, I have very little need to get the ball rolling as quickly as possible after landing on the green. While I followed that advice early on in my golf years (from some good instructors, btw), it never really made much sense to me. It always felt like having to develop too much feel across too many different lofts. Once I got comfortable picking and hitting landing targets with just the higher lofted wedges, I stopped using regular irons and the PW for those tasks.

 Honestly - I chip more with a hybrid than I do a 9i.

Iron set wedges - PXG 0211 DC P (42) G (48)

Specialty wedges PM Grind 19 54 58 64

P is for anything between 105-130 based on how I'm feeling and the shot I want to hit. Stock is like 120-125

G is stock like 105 I'll hit it between 90-115

54 is stock 90. Can hit it between 70-100

58 just replaced a 60 from the original pm grind. Stock 60 was 70-75 ish so I'd figure 75-80 add a few take some away.

64 a full shot is about 65 yards.

I hit a variety of shots with the 54 58 and 64 green side but it's mostly 58 and 64 unless its a low runner with plenty of green to work with. Usually 64 most often.

Occasionally I might chip with a G instead of a 54 for low runners but that's usually just the rare occasion I need to bump something into a bank and take spin off so a 54 doesn't get killed by the grass

I currently have a 46 Pitching and 50 Gap as part of my iron setup.  I'm only carrying a 60 lob wedge currently, after having taken out the 56 Sand wedge.  I went back and looked thru a couple year's worth of my Arccos data, and I never took a full shot under 100yds (my gap wedge distance) and I practice a ton with my 60 out of all greenside options.  So I barely hit the sand wedge over 100+ rounds.

This allowed me to add a 9w at the upper end of my bag, which I find I'm now hitting all the time into greens on Par 4s, and longer par 3s.

PW: 46

GW: 50

SW: 56

LW: 60

I use the PW and GW interchangeably for shots ranging from 100-120, depending on my lie and what trajectory and shape I want.  GW and SW are for the shots in the 85-110 range and SW and LW for the 65-95 range.  I also use the SW and LW interchangeably in bunkers depending on lie and how the sand is playing.  Mostly just like to have the optionality, and I don't need anything more than driver, 3W and 3i on the other end of my bag.  This has served me well for the shorter par 4s and par 5s where I need to lay up, and I haven't suffered much when it comes to needing more than what I have on the longer clubs.

Used to go 47 - 56 - 60, but just switched to 47 - 52 - 58.

I can hit the 58 almost as far as the 56 if I need to, and the 52 fills the big gap that I had between 47 and 56.

How about all 5!? PW (43), AW (48), 52, 56, 60.

Obviously the numbers on my iron set are all “wrong.” By loft it’s closer to a traditional 4 wedge set up. When I go out with a a half set I’ll usually only take the AW and 56 or PW and 52 depending on where I’m playing.

Yep, this is me...my Titleist AP3 PW is also 43 - so I have that + 48 - 52 - 56 & 60
