I have a few questions as im very interested in these! Will aftermarket weights be available for these just like the vintage line? Second,  tech wise, what does the 3d printing actually offer? I believe claim is weight saving, but wouldnt a hollow, or nothing where the 3d material is be even better? Not to sound critical, just trying to understand. Does it offer better feel? I think the 3d printing is cool just trying to understand more about it.

Last, more of a custom options question. The agera is available as “one length” (37.5”). Would it be possible to get the supernova in that spec?

Great question on interchangeable weights on the 3D Printed putters... could be a 2nd or 3rd generation addition, stay tuned! 3D printing allows us to move weight low and to the perimeter in the head which promotes better roll and higher forgiveness respectively. And… it really helps with overall putter stiffness and preventing the head from sounding like a cow bell. With putters... We don't need more cowbell. We don't currently offer a 37.5"" SuperNova but it could be a good addition to the line.

The 3D printing seems like a very cool idea and I’m sure a lot of thought and research went into these. Are there any plans for more Flowneck style putters?  Those fit MY style and it seems like most putter makers stay away from those except in mallet form.

Congrats on the great lineup of products this year.

We are always looking to the future! Thanks for the comment and stay tuned...

Really a super general question, but curious anyway -- how much of a challenge was it for the team to get the putter head weighting right using this production method and material versus traditional metalworking methods?

Huge... the convergence of volume, weight, sound, feel and durability are always a challenge when designing and developing a golf club head, putters are no exception. Pinpointing the tungsten ballast points while thinning the steel face / sole structure and aluminum crown and adding the 3D printed cartridge was not trivial.

How long have you been developing this line that incorporates the 3D printing tech?  Any unexpected impacts on the sound/feel that needed to be worked through during the prototyping process?

We have been working on 3D Multi-Material designs for a couple years AND there were a lot of learnings in feel & construction! Mostly around insert sound and lattice damping/tuning.

Where are your putters made?
Are you able to share any details on the RP technology you use to build these putters?

We can tell you but then we'd have to do the 'Men in Black' mind wipe 🙂 The RP tech is HP MJF 'Binder Jetting'. This allows the high volume production of 3D printed parts in a structural polymer.

Good morning,

Anticipating the success of your new putter lines, do you plan to invest more in putter customization? Will customers be able to order their custom specs (i.e. 33"/68*) along with different shaft/grip options?

Will we be seeing more 3D printed steel heads like the Supersport-35?

Good morning!

Currently the industry is under severe supply constraints for all components, but especially shafts and grips and we are making stock putters as fast as we can. Since we are just getting back into putters, this is limiting our ability to provide all the options just yet. But stay tuned and we should be able to do later this year... On 3D printed steel, there are only a few of these machines in the world and the process/cost is still very expensive, still evaluating the process/capabilities/capacities etc. So in short, yes we are thinking about options for the future but it takes time to get these new processes sorted out and then design new products. It was a great first offering, so we are encouraged about possibilities!

Would I be able to order one with my specs?

39.25" long

518 grams total weight

77 degree lie angle

12 degree toe hang

Oversize round grip

Thanks!

Wow you know your specs! I don't know anyone except Tour guys that get that kind of treatment. But here it goes...

39.25" - Yes.

518g - It will be heavier unless we remove weight depending on your grip. W/o the grip you are already at 510 grams.

77 degree lie - Yes.

12 degree toe hang - If you were a Tour Staffer, yes.

Oversize Round Grip - Currently we don't have one of those specified.

See you on the Tour Truck!

What can be done to adjust the weighting and balance? I tried one at a local golf shop last week and the contact off the face felt great, but the material was far too light for my liking creating a weird balance vs my preferred feel, almost like it was face heavy. Also, what advantages does the 3d printing bring versus traditional material construction? I was a bit sticker shocked to say the least, as I would have expected the value in 3d printing to come in the $.

We've chosen total headweight based off the best selling putters in the marketplace. But that's where the similarities end. We've chosen materials for their given properties to enhance feel, provide off-the-charts MOI and optimize launch conditions. You may be experiencing high MOI for the first time. 🙂 The face is Forged 6061 Aluminum, so it is quite light but provides a solid metallic sound/feel. The 3D structure makes the whole construction work because without it the putter would not feel solid. As far as the price, there is a lot going on with regards to construction/material usage and the 3D printed component is just one contributing factor to overall price.

Is it possible to 3D print putters without an insert?

Not sure if you're referring to the face insert or the 3D printed 'insert'? For face insert, yes it's possible to 3D print putters without an insert. We chose an aluminum insert to assist in increasing MOI while providing a solid metallic face feel. Is it possible to 3D print putters without the 3D printed nylon 'insert'? Sure, anything is possible but the 3D printed insert cannot be removed from the current putters without destroying sound/feel.

Have you all experimented with 3D printed metal in addition to polymers?

After reading above I assume that you could, even with the Sik tech, design in any metal insert and still get the weight you need. Have you all looked into SS or copper?

Yea a cowbell putter doesnt sound appealing! Makes sense, it saves weight but still acts like a buffer. Thanks!
