Want To Try Graphite In My Irons, Need Some Advice

Wanted to drop a comment on the weight....

 

When going with lighter shafts, I borrowed an idea I'd picked up from Dave Tutelman's site (and I'm sure some guys are sick of seeing me mention it, LOL).  His suggestion was to take 1/3rd of the decrease in shaft weight and add it back to the clubhead.

 

The way I implement that is to adjust my swingweight to however many points higher roughly equates to that 1/3rd shaft weight decrease, and make mild adjustments to season to taste.  I was playing D3-D4 with Precision stepped 6.5 shafts.  I dropped to NV MLTi Pro shafts at 105g, so I bumped my swingweight about 3.5 pts to compensate.  Seems to work decently, though the static weight is an adjustment.

 

In your case, you're only dropping 10g or so, you'll be in much better shape.  🙂

To hell with it!  I'm just going to order a set of Recoil 110 F5s and go straight in with them.  I could always soft step them later on if need be.  Thanks for all the help guys!

I hit the Tour V 120 just fine, but I ain't getting any younger, either.  I could easily play the Tour V in the 110 stiff and not have any problems with them.  Maybe I would turn the ball over a bit m
