Removing a "Flat Cat Solution" putter grip

I apologize if this has been addressed before, but I would like some input on how to remove a Flat Cat Solution putter grip to use on a different putter.  It has a 75g solid weight in a cone shape that sits below the grip.

 

I see that the venting hole is not at the end of the grip like others, but on one of the sides.  I would usually use one of the golfworks grip removal tool and some solvent, but the problem is the weight that is aluminum or some other metal alloy.

 

What's the method to get that off safely to use on a new putter?  Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm curious to this as well. Got the same grip on a putter that's brand new, and would like to try it on something else.

I've pulled everything from superstokes to jumbomax... 

 

It takes time, a lot of patience, and a lot of solution. Pour fluid at the mouth of the grip, pulling it away from the shaft (just to be able to get the tool in. Once in, go about three inches at a time. You'll be able to tell when it get dry. Then pour some more fluid down along the tool, so it runs into the grip. Keep doing that over and over, and you'll get it. I've pulled grip people said we're impossible, no problem. Just have to have the patience, lol.

Unfortunately the metal tip precludes using any kind of grip removal rod/tool.  You might have some luck with the injection method, but I tend to doubt it.  Good luck with what ever method you try.

Absolutely agree with Hack Daddy. I removed a Fat Flat Cat putter grip yesterday. Using my 20 inch grip removal tool, a lot of solution and patience I was able to remove the grip.

The Flat Cat Solution has a weighted metal tip.  There is no way to get a grip removal tool past it.

The grip removal tool literally just separates the grip from the tape. It is not too thick where the metal tip you're referring to will make a difference. There is still enough room.

I have removed a few of these, insert as much solution you can though the rubber at the bottom of the grip then twist the grip holding the top and bottom to break the seal and they come off.  It takes some work but it can be done.

It actually has a foam ring that allows for use of a tool.  The foam ring is like 2-3mm in thickness, which is enough to get a remover tool in there.  From there it just takes a lot of grip goop and patience.  It will definitely come off without resorting to cutting it off.

All I can say is that I couldn’t get my Golfworks tool past the metal tip.

I would try to insert some paint thinner into the end of the grip/shaft and use an air compressor to force the solvent between the tape and grip and twist it off.
