LPGA Morgan Pressel as commentator

I'm sure she is a sweet girl but TO ME her voice is rather annoying. Kind of a high pitch squeal that wears on you. Also if the LPGA keeps her as a commentator she is going to be another Jim Nantz. Not going to criticize anyone or say anything negative, just cater to the players. As bad as Lexie was putting ( as always ) she would do nothing but make excuses. Even when specifically asked by Rich Lerner about Lexie's bad putting she just made excuses for her.

I'm a fan.

Me, too. (Her pitch is really only just slightly above the squeak of Nicklaus.) 😉

Knowledge of the Rules is part of the applied skill set which a player must use to play competitive golf.

For the most part I like Morgan just fine.  She's knowledgeable and pretty articulate.  I don't expect her to be too hard on her fellow players, especially those who are friends.  Any criticism I have would be minor nits - the production crew needs to watch her volume and every once in a while she just plain talks too much.  The latter is a common affliction among commentators.

In general I like everyone that works the LPGA ... though I would like someone in Paige's ear to yell at her to not giggle so much.

Morgan's voice has always been annoying to me, even as a player.  But I have no problem with "what" she says.  It's Karen Stupples I cannot stand.....she just will not shut up, just like Nick Faldo!

Agree.

Then there's GIGGLES Paige....so Morgan is the best of 3 evils...lol.

Many don't like Tom Abbott but I like him because he will say some funny stuff during a BORING coverage.

But he's TONED it down because in our PC world....EVERYONE IS OFFENDED.😆

I like Morgan as a commentator - but then I’m biased as she has been  my favorite golfer since Annika and then Lorena retired.  (No pressure on her there!😄).  We often have to mute Paige at our house. I really enjoy Tom Abbott and his wry, subtle humor.  Also really like Kay and Foltsy as on course commentators, but I often wish he would keep more distance from the golfers so he could speak up louder.  I hope we will still see Judy Rankin on some broadcasts this year, but I think Morgan would be a good replacement.  (I don’t know what the deal is with the wardrobe!)

Art first I was totally put off by her voice. But voices can be changed - UK premier Thatcher did it very successfully. Somehow Morgan's voice doesn't get to me so much - maybe familiarity but I also think they've been playing around with microphones (tube mics?) and equalisation.

I've become a fan - she's interesting and really knows the game. Good addition to the team.

Agree with the above post.  Her voice was so irritating at first but they seemed to have coached her to speak a little different or done some magic to make it a bit better.  It’s still not great though.

That's funny but true, she dresses like a grandmother.

Like a few here have said she is very knowledgeable on the game. if they truly are coaching her on her voice I wish her success on that. But she stills needs to be honest and able to criticize when needed.

I think she's good. She has a tendency to drone on too long about a topic but it's not too bad. She has great insights and is a good addition to the team.

I think she was very gentle about Lexi's putting meltdown because they're neighbors, as she mentioned during the broadcast.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
