US Open 2021 - Torrey Pines - Who's going?

This will be my 3rd US Open, and my first trip to Torrey Pines. I'm flying out from Chicago on Thursday and staying in Pacific Beach. Have a ticket for Saturday/Sunday, but won't be driving. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to get there? Will there be shuttles, or is it best to just take a Lyft/Uber there and back? Sorry if this is in the wrong channel, new here so just getting a feel of things. Who's all going?

They are doing shuttles from UCSD parking structure as well as offering parking for a fee at glider port. Since there’s only one entrance regardless of how you get there, you’ll enter from same gate. You’ll have to walk across the property to get to the merchandise tent / driving range seating

Got it, so I'll just need to get to UCSD parking lot somehow? How has the Lyft/Uber scene been out in SD lately? It's been quite challenging to get one here in Chicago, should I be concerned? Also I have a parking pass for Saturday that I won't need, anyone looking for one?

Hi. hope you have a great time. I'm a big fan of Chicago also.

I'm not an expert but I live nearby and I've been a couple times.

The course is located in sort of a 1 way in, 1 way out place (technically it's 2 ways).

My recommendation would be to take an Uber/Lyft but have them stop about a half mile short of the course and just walk the rest of the way in, if it's crowded.

The same thing when you leave. Walk a half mile from the course and jump in your Uber there.

Unless you go at off hours, it can become extremely congested near the course.

From Pacific Beach your Uber should not be expensive, and I think it will definitely be your most convenient and efficient option.

Ill be there on thursday with some friends! My first gold tournament since my dad took me to the 99 Ryder cup!

Does anyone know if there is a dress code or if they allow you to bring backpacks?

No backpacks bigger than 6”x6”x6” according to the website under the “safety” tab:
