Why do you not have more content for LPGA?

Can you give an example of inaccurate WITB information? I always found the information to be accurate. My biggest complaint is that we don't see it often enough in the mainstream golf media outlets. For example, Yaka won the USWO last week, and crickets for a few days. Ally won in Vegas, and I only found an article from Australia.

I think Women's Tennis only sport that's making money..  All other sports are either struggling  or losing money..

I wish they were more popular, we could get more coverage..

Look at WNBA..

I watched the men's French Open final this morning....the Joker ....becoming a GOAT....what a comeback.

I'm no tennis expert and mainly only watch a bit...especially the majors...but the women tennis commentators are good IMO...but then what do I know......many have credible tennis careers with major wins too.

I have never watched a WNBA game.

Tennis is different from most other sports in that they get to piggy back off the men's events during Majors and Masters 1000 events.  The sponsors pay for the men's coverage and that money flows to the women's game.  It would be akin to the LPGA and PGA playing the same week playing the same course and having the same network coverage for both leagues.  It is the exact reason the US Women's Open has the biggest purse in women's golf by a long shot.

That conclusion is a bit arbitrary.

Take a look of 2021 USWO thread, it drew more than 1,500 posts and 45,800 views.

LPGA has less eyes on it. On TV. On the Internet. On this Forum.

I like the product, I watch it, but I get that it does not have anywhere near the interest of the PGA.

Yes, I know you’re a fan, I enjoy reading your posts.

With any number, there’re two aspects; the absolute and the slope.

The absolute isn’t as good as PGA, but one could argue the slope is steeper.

The thread has averaged 1 post a day (2 from me). Case in point around the LPGA not driving enough traffic.

I have always thought the limited eyes who watch and follow the LPGA....the LPGA is doing fine with coverage available and the purses they play for too.

If the gals want to play for larger purses they have to deliver a ROI for those purses....it's a business.

I have always blamed women themselves for the lack of interest in the LPGA.....very very few women watch golf....never mind the very very very few who watch the LPGA.

Most LPGA viewers/fans are old fanboys...the demographics of this is demonstrated by the members who often post in the LPGA folder.

It's a cultural thing.

Yet the KLPGA and JLPGA are so much more popular than men's golf in S. Korea and Japan. Even the female pros on both tour's respective development tours are well sponsored....ya can't say the same for the Symetra tour pros or low level unpopular LPGA pros.

It will be a good comparison to measure against the men's US Open thread ...

When it comes to ad dollar spends, it turns into a conversation about spending to put content into a less crowded but not as deep market (LPGA) vs. more crowded but deeper market (PGA).

If not for the money generated from the USO and the money funneled to the USWO....the gals would be playing for peanuts for the USWO.

There was an article posted here that the USWO is a money loser costing $10M/year to produce the event...then again all the other USGA events and qualifiers, etc are money losers too.

But isn't the USGA a non-profit organization???

This is where the WNBA has been ... there is always the argument you have to spend money to make money, and it does take a while to build a brand and get a following. But how long and how much? And the USGA is different because, as you said, they are a non-profit and have this huge cash cow that is the men's US Open.

Wonder if the Senior Men's Open is money maker or loser?

Gotta believe the USSO is also another money loser.

Went to my 1st USGA event in 2010 at Sahalee for the USSO....saw Sahalee agin in 2016 at the KPMG.....Sahalee is a BEAUTIFUL course.

Tom Watson, Couples, etc were aloof to the fans including the kids.

Crenshaw and John Cook were gems to the fans.

Unfortunately, there are few really good events here in the PNW.

Just to reinforce how much Japan loves women's golf....this live stream....it's now 6pm PST.......is I believe a developmental tour of the JLPGA.....ya think the Symetra would do this?....lol.

There are also live streams of the KLPGA & JLPGA on a weekly basis too...the JLPGA typically has larger purses and more events than the KLPGA.

If ya like mountainous parkland style courses....Japan & S. Korea are your places to play golf....though very very EXPENSIVE.

It is interesting to note the PGA draws a larger percentage if it audience from women then does the LPGA.

The for the most part the LPGA only draws in hardcore golf fans and this just happened to by mostly men as for what ever reason women are less likely to be "hardcore" fans of sport in general (maybe the actual have a life😉).

Ignore gender and LPGA is second tier professional league - second tier leagues regardless of the sport/gender have significant drop off from the top tier league in early every sport - Hockey, Football, Baseball, Basketball etc.
