Dan Carraher stick drill

Two versions. 
start on lead side.  Slide shaft down leg and off before knee. Have end of stick point between feet and ball.

@glkHave you been able to get the stick down into the grip? If so, did you use something to open the breather hole in the grip?

Yep.  Just takes some pressure.    I grip the stick closer to the grip otherwise the stick wants to bend too much.  Shaft bends a bit but then it slides in.  I use orange driveways markers.  Way better than trying to hold it on shaft.

Awesome, thank you. Eric Cogorno has one similar to this. I realized I play my best when my backswing gets more vertical.

I use Orange driveway markers from home depot.. they small one will pop in pretty easy

I also use it for a alignment stick

When doing this on the lead side during the downswing are you simply trying to keep from hitting yourself before impact? Any time after impact is okay? Or is there more to it I've never put together..

@jsn, Should never hit you, stick will ride back up your side if you re-hinge correctly. I usually just do a 9 to 3 length swing.

Hmm so if I understand correctly in the first link on Dan's Instagram above it returns to where it was on his lead side and slides down the leg from there.. it looks like it still comes back into contact with him, it just doesn't smack into the hip/oblique and stop.

Maybe I'm just overthinking this and the more you can avoid it the better.

can be some differences based on needs of player.

can hit balls and with right side drill. Just go slow - whacking the left side is no fun - unless your name is Book.

Probably just overthinking it. If you can make solid contact without smacking your side, you're doing something right. When you smack your ribs you'll know it and won't want to do it again haha. Come to think of it, I'm probably guilty of holding the angle a little too long and need work on that re-hinging.
