Need long sleeve fitted polo for hot sunny weather

Scorching heat and sun in South Texas necessitates long sleeves for me on the course.  I'm having trouble finding an affordable, athletic fit, collared polo shirt with long sleeves that meets my criteria:

 

-lightweight stretch fabric for hot weather

-provides sun protection

-athletic fit, similar to Puma Rotation polos

-NO cotton

 

 

I'm going to try wearing a white rash guard under my typical golf polo and see how that goes.  The rash guard fits like a compression/base layer shirt.  Hopefully it helps control the immense amount of sweat running down my arms onto my hands.  I'm 6'2" 210lbs with athletic build.

Have you tried compression arm sleeves?

+1 on the compression arm sleeves. Ive been wearing them in the summer for several years now. They work excellent and are cheap enough you can just pitch them when they get overly dirty/worn.

Quite a few years ago I tried very hard to find exactly what you were originally asking for. A breathable, moisture-wicking, lightweight long sleeve shirt that keeps the sun off but won't cause heat stroke in the hot summer sun. When I finally found the sun sleeves I never looked back!

I love my SPARMS.  I find it helps a lot with keeping my hands free of sweat too.  I don’t have to rotate gloves nearly as much.  That wasn’t why I got them but on hot days I feel  better knowing that the grips won’t slip.

I have a pair of Solbari sleeves that are UPF 50 and love them.  Unfortunately, I don’t get to use it much here.

The Rhone delta is a great polo.  I know Nordstrom Rack and Rhone had them marked down recently.

I started wearing the Sparms sleeves because of sun, but I have discovered that they are tremendously helpful with my hands and grips not getting sweaty in the summer heat of NC.  I went to the range one day last week without them, and could barely hold the club; I hadn't realized how beneficial they were for that.  The other big surprise is that once they get wet, the sleeves feel cooler than the air around them.  Good stuff...

 

FWIW, I really, really like the Sparms shoulder wrap; gets rid of the problems of sleeves either being too tight or slipping down.

I have long sleeve polos (Peter Millar, Nike, etc) but feel like they would be too hot. I’m a Sparms convert now. And as mentioned before, I like the shoulder wrap. Great product!
