Brands NOT at Club Champion

It'd be helpful to provide a link with the question to who you do actually carry.  Without it, somebody has to have already thought through this question, or have to do a bunch of work to figure it out.

That said, what would be helpful to have some more options in 1) the heavier X flex shafts, and 2) fairway woods.  When I went for my driver fitting and then refitting in 2 locations, and then used my trackman time at a third location, there was maybe 2-3 7X shafts, and none above that to try for fairway woods.  And, at least in the first locations, there were zero 5 woods, so I was told I should hit a driving iron instead.

I know you can't have everything in stock everywhere all the time, but if there are things that could be ordered for fittings (like a 7X Ventus Red or literally any 5 wood), that would be the more the merrier!

7 (and possibly 9) woods and lots of shaft options to try in them. Anything from light and flexible to heavy and stiff.  Lots of guys on tour using 7 woods now. You should be able to fit those for ams too.

For perspective, I’ve been a club fitter for around 10 years, have done a lot of builds too.

Having seen the array of brand options that Club Champion offers, I couldn’t honestly see how there would be any “holes” where there is a lack of suitable offerings for a golfer.

TheMagicStinger’s suggestion of Sub 70 (Or similar) would be a great value price point option to add to the offerings, other than that the only part that I could see room for expansion of offerings is in more bespoke grinds etc from brands like National Custom Works of Artisan Golf etc. or shafts from Seven Dreamers, KHT/Autoflex etc etc

Only problem with offering brands like this is the vast array of customisation and small variations available would likely be a difficult to support on a large scale basis.

This too, I forgot to mention in my prior post perhaps some offerings that may also be “Tour only” such as Callaway’s Sub Zero 20 degree Rogue/Mavrik models, Epic Speed Triple Diamond fairway woods, the tour only X Forged Utilities etc etc

You're 100% on point. We sometimes run into issues with niche/bespoke brands that physically cannot keep up with the demand that our stores would place on their manufacturing. Autoflex is a recent example -- it's not that we don't want to offer them, they just can't keep up with the potential demand from 80+ stores in the US. That said, we're open to looking at new brands (hence the thread) that might make sense for our golfers, even in a limited capacity.

We would agree that there are no real "holes" in our offerings if you look at it strictly from a "can we find something that works" perspective, but our founder Nick firmly believes that more is always better 🙂

We do get those Tour-only offerings more often than any other fitter but what many golfers don't realize is that those are entirely dependent on the OEM. Most OEMs don't/can't make enough demos for us to carry those products, which is mostly driven by return (i.e. there's not always enough demand to justify 80+ demos and higher manufacturing numbers). But we take in as many as they offer!

I know this is quite niche and would require multiple of the same shaft, but various tipping would be nice.  Here is an example.  I love a driver shaft in the 58-62 gram range, but on the x stiff side.  I tried ventus blue 5S and didn't care for it in a fitting, but then tried someone at my club the same shaft tipped and inch and a half and absolutely loved it.

We do carry Ben Hogan and a couple other traditionally D2C brands, so it might make more sense than you think!

I was told that the PX RDX line was a "made for"  product and that's why it was not available for me to demo (Tucson)

You can PM me if you'd like.

Generally speaking, this is tough because we'd need tipped options in basically every offering to cover those bases, which is impossible on its own but then you add in the question of how much tipping. Additionally, shaft OEMs themselves recommend against tipping in most cases — we can certainly do it on the build side but it tends to be the exception, not the rule. Either way, the feedback is noted if there's a solution in the future!

Depends on which shaft you're talking about, but we do carry RDX options (smoke blue and smoke black). Some models within existing lines are exclusive to OEMs or aren't offered to us as part of our demo package, but that's what we're asking this question — to see if there's anything missing that we can reasonably add to the list.

Not a club brand missing, but a switch to Quintic fittings for putters would be great.  The current SAM offering leaves much to be desired.

Driver: Ping G410 LST (Diamana ZF)
5w:  Titleist TS2 (Ventus Blue)
3H: Titleist 818 H2 (Ventus Blue HB)
or 3i: Cobra King Utility 21* (Tour AD DI)
4-P: PXG 0311T (KBS $-Taper)
Wedges: 51* Edel TRP, 55* Edel DVR, 60* Cally MD5
Putter: PXG Mini Gunboat H

From my perspective the SAM fitting was awesome when I did one at Club Champion.  I have not had a Quintic fitting so I can't compare them.

note to Club Champion just sent you a PM with a question

Any thoughts on heavier shafts or higher lofted woods?  Even if they don't have to be in all 80 stores at the same time?

We try to keep our offerings pretty consistent from store-to-store — not always possible based on the OEM (for example, we carry MOD Golf in maybe 30 stores with the potential to add locations later) that's the goal. That said, it's just a matter of logistics to make sure we're optimizing space in our stores and getting the widest variety of club technology without too much redundancy. With changes like that, it would happen gradually — i.e. adding more heavy shaft options to existing families — as opposed to diving in with demos from every brand to make sure the addition is sustainable.

Do not go to Club Champion. They’re terrible. Not only do they charge $$$ (which I could rationalize if they did what they advertise), but the set I had built was mismatched and not according to what I had ordered. Crazy bad experience - warning!

I just did an iron fitting last month and they didn’t have any UST Recoil shafts to try here in Tucson.
Also no right handed Cobra Forged Tec ‘22 Iron head .
