Dustin Johnson becomes partner at LA Golf

Looks like DJ's run with the old Speeder is over. He's become a full partner at LA Golf and will sit on the board as well according to the LA Golf medial release. It will be interesting to see how many LAGP shafts he moves into now that he owns a piece. You can bet they're developing product for the rest of his bag outside the driver and putter.

But are their shafts good? $419 bucks for a putter shaft seems pretty extravagant. It must have an optimized flex profile for putting because we all know how much flex and load we can put on a putter shaft with all the high putter clubhead speeds. 😂

LA Golf has way too many celebrities in the company, and not enough product out in the world. They can stack all the DJs, Brysons, and Rickie's they want - but until they get working products in people's hands it wont matter.

Most of the fitters around me carry LAGP product now. It's available and the DJ signing can only bring more exposure. I think it's also an important step away from the idea that it's a niche product for a guy like Bryson. DJ has been playing Fuji products for as long as I remember and it seems like his driving hasn't suffered if last week was any indication.

Actually, the Red and White shafts in the TourAXS line will fit a lot of players. It's fair that they don't have a ton of options, but it's not all rebar.

I liked em better when they were Matrix and came in cool, sparkly colors. As for the $419 putter shafts. Thank goodness! Just the other day I was putting and noticed my dispersion was all over the place!!! Finally a solution! Phew.

If you go to their website all you see is the face of BDC...when does that change...

 

I am guessing their business model is become just enough of a niche market that one of the big boys swallows them up and the investors laugh all the way to the bank

Must be the reason I have a 40 year old Bullseye fluted shaft in my 26 year old Santa Fe. Ya know just putting that out there for ya LOL

Might move onto the Texas Rebar shafts or stick to his trusty x100's.  I'm waiting for LA Golf to bring the rebars to retail.  Love my MMT, but  I've had a ton of Matrix shafts in the past and absolutely loved all of them minus the TP7HD.
