Shameful Adidas Customer Service

Last July I bought a pair of code chaos shoes. They probably have 10 rounds on them and a few range sessions. The sole is starting to separate from the boost material on the left shoe. I thought I’d reach out to Adidas and see if they would take care of it.

I had to send them photos of the tag showing the manufacturing date, one of the damage, and another of the receipt even though I purchased from Adidas.com.

You have to email them at a certain email address. They reply to you from a different one. They replied asking for more info. So I replied to that email, undeliverable. I had to put the other email address in for all subsequent replies. Complete pain. Makes no sense.

So finally received word that they would not cover the shoes. They only cover 6 months from date of manufacture! So I bought them middle of July 2020, and the manufacture date on the tag was March 2020. So they were already 4 months out when I received them. This is just nuts to me!

Didn’t golf shoes use to come with a better guarantee? I have multiple pairs of 360’s as well as these, probably 8-10 pairs of ultimate shorts and a lot of golf shirts from them. I’ve spent a lot of money on their gear. I expected a little more support from them. Needless to say, I’ve spent my last $$ on Adidas.

I have had a similar issue with them. Some waterproof golf shoes from them a few years back. My feet were soaked by the 4th hole.  I sent them all the required info and they said the same thing. Only good for 6 months from date of manufacture. I think I had bought my shoes more than 6 months after manufacture so essentially they came without warranty. I will never buy another pair of Adidas golf shoes.

This is a thing with them- I know it’s a pain going back through all of these threads so no reason to dig it back up but there was a pretty significant thread regarding the exact same issue you have - almost out of warranty by the time it was purchased new from the store. Makes NO sense...unless they know their stuff gon fall apart, which clearly it does.

Nike of all people used to have a 1-year waterproof warranty and in some cases 2-year warranty. They still may. I feel like that’s a solid length of time for a warranty. And their CS is usually solid. If your feet are wider than a TV remote you’ll be uncomfortable which is why I can’t wear Nike’s. Especially with the attached shoe tongue they do now. But the warranty and CS is good at least.

i wouldn’t pay any significant amount of money for adidas stuff, unless you wanted to be like Rahm and show off your hoagie in their tight pants....

Just looked up a few competitors for “industry standard”

Footjoy, 90 days from purchase plus the waterproof warranty of 1-2 years

Nike, 2 years from manufacture date.

Puma, 1 year and 1-2 year waterproof. Doesn’t state if date of manufacture or purchase date.

Looks like lots of solid options and Adidas is basically worst in the industry.

Sorry that happened to you. Like a lot of things in my golf life I credit this site and community for arming me with that knowledge about their lack of warranty a couple of years ago. I always see expensive Adidas shoes and think, not so fast my friend!

Sadly I never noticed. Always had good luck with their products and almost every shoe a few years back had a solid warranty. These are still useable, but shouldn’t be failing like that. Hoping others will learn from this. You’d think their cost to replace a shoe wouldn’t be worth losing a customer, but that seems to be how they do business. Lot of other great options out there so time to move on.

Not sure what's going on. I have (had) a pair of code chaos that according to the tongue label were manufactured 3/20. They were BOUGHT 3/21.  I contacted them 6/21 for issues of sound - they are really noisy. After orginally being denied - they thought my complaint was due to fit, I was finally told that they would honor the warranty, I sent them back last week and should receive an Adidas credit later this week or next - for the full cost of the shoe (as shown in the receipt).

I can only tell you to be patient, professional and courteous - not saying anyone is or is not being these things, rather for those who demand and otherwise 'act out' remember, you are dealing with humans - and really they don't care if they give you a credit or not (in my opinion).  So, being nice, courteous, etc - it an really go a long way to getting the result you want.

Again my shoes were made 1 year before they were sold, and I complained 3 months after the sale and I had to go through the process 2 times.

Good luck - oh, and my footjoys and Nikes both have 2 year dry warranties and fit considerably better - and neither pair make any noise!

Just recently tried to purchase shoes and shorts from Adidas. Order was never processed, but they put a hold on my card for a week. Hours on the phone with Adidas and my bank.

I can tell you from recent experience that Puma is very easy to deal with on these types of issues.  All my shoes are Puma and I've never really had any issues with the many pairs of golf shoes I've owned/currently own, but I did have my one and only issue last year where one of the spike "pods" completely blew out of the bottom of the shoe.  I don't even know when it happened or where it ended up, I just know at some point I was walking and could literally feel a hole under my foot.  This was probably roughly a year or so after I had bought that particular pair and it all it took was an email with a few pictures.  I was asked to call a number to customer service and the guy I spoke to was super nice and simply wanted to know which colorway I wanted for my replacement (and of course the replacement pair was the newer model, which was great in its own).
