My current diet plan

Recommended Posts

My mother is a certified nutritionist so she has this diet plan for me.  I've been on this diet plan for over 18 months being a D1 tennis player.  Now that I am transitioning over to golf, I am still sticking to this diet plan but with a smaller portion since golf does not require as much energy as tennis.  Highly recommend to athletes in all sports

- Breakfast at 6am:  whole grain toast, scramble egg, one avocado, 1 banana, and 12oz of smoothie made from banana, avocado, strawberries, blue berries, spinach

- Golf at 7am until 10am

- snack at 10am:  whole grain toast on avocado, fresh squeeze orange juice, almond milk, and 12oz of smoothie made from banana, avocado, strawberries, blue berries, spinach

- golf from 11am until 1pm

- lunch at 1pm:  white eggs with zuchini, gluten free pasta with tomato sauce & chicken, one mango and 12oz of smoothie made from banana, avocado, strawberries, blue berries, spinach

- golf from 2pm until 5pm

- snack at 5pm:  One mango and three oranges

- golf from 5:30pm until 7:30pm

- dinner @8pm:  one bowl of Lentils soup, three rows of sushi, one mango and 24oz of smoothie made from banana, avocado, strawberries, blue berries, spinach

My mother purchases organic food from either wholefood or Trader's Joe and the price is very reasonable.  She watches very carefully what my father and I eat.  Before I started golf, as a tennis player, I was 5'11 and 180 lbs.  I am now 172 lbs and I feel much stronger and lighter now.

You give me the impression you’re taking it really too serious, but I feel it’s your work ethic from tennis that’s giving way to your golf. Not a bad thing but it feels like much. And the activities might not be cardio based but you will feel the effect when you’re walking 6500+ courses in the sun with severe hills/undulations.

I just got back from my njcaa nationals and I walked 30 miles in 5 days. Lol plus I carry my bag, like a real man lmao (the older elder guys at the course said that one not me) but if you’re pushing a cart then you might be less tired but that’s just preference.

Sounds like a great diet and good for you for taking care of yourself. Nothing wrong with starting adult life with a healthy diet.

I was talking about spending 10 hours a day golfing ... but good on you getting your mom to buy your food.

High in carbs, highly repetitive, very little protein...hard pass.  Seems better suited for a ballet dancer than a golfer.  I like the Bryson diet much better

Amen to that.  If the OP is playing golf and tennis AND working out as much as he says he is, he needs more protein in his diet.  The diet laid out is carb heavy and protein deficient.  I have many of my clients on higher protein, moderate fat and moderate to low carb diets.  Plenty of fiber as well.  My wife studied nutrition and dietetics in college before making the switch to psychology and she's the one who customizes their diets based on stats, activity level, and their goals.

No thanks.  I like carbs too much, hehe.  I feel you on the bacon though.

I do eat meat and seafood.  Did you read the thread?  I eat pasta with chicken and tomato sauce at lunch and seafood (crab meat and shrimp in the sushi) for dinner.  The lentil soup also has chicken and other vegetable in it.  Lentil has lot of protein too.  There are plenty of protein in my diet.  My mother only purchases organic food.

What I am eating is no different than what Novak Djokovic eat, and Djokovic does not eat meat or seafood anymore, strictly plant-based diet.  I have plenty of fiber in my daily diet, with 3 avocados everyday.

No offense to your mother but this looks like a healthy diet designed by someone educated in the 80s. OJ is just sugar, there's no beef, egg yolks are great for you, and Idk what the point of gluten free pasta is if you're already starting the day w a bunch of bread

The OJ I am drinking is the peeled orange put into the blender, so it is like eating a whole orange where I get all the pulp and fiber from the orange.  I don't drink Tropicana OJ.  My current diet plan is approved by both my family physician, another physician at John Hopkins where my mother used to work, a nutritionist at John Hopkins, and most importantly, my mother.  It is great to have a mother looking out for my healthy life style with the father footing the bill 😀.

I did some researchs on PGA golfers height and weight:

Rory Mcilroy:  5 ft 9' and 161 lbs

Justin Thomas:  5 ft 10' and 160 lbs

I am 5 ft 11' and currently 172 lbs and I've been on this diet plan for the past 18 months.  I used to be 180 lbs.  I lost 8 lbs and feel so much lighter and stronger.

@stingerfade he mentioned in another thread he was 19.

Long time lurker, second time poster... this kid is just trolling, right? I'm about 95% sure.

18 months d1 tennis at 19? Seems fishy I agree

at 19 I was transitioning into real life on my own!

More likely a rich, pampered kid who’s been sheltered enough to develop a meaningful level of naïveté.

But he's built like Justin Thomas and eats like Novak Djokovic.
