Footjoy prosl replacement insoles.

Recommended Posts

Have worn though the ball of the foot in both my proSL insoles in under 4 months of play, 10 month old shoes. I run etc also and have never had an insole wear like this. Soles as you can see it great condition still, footjoy say they won’t help, any idea on what is a good fit replacement? My tour s, traditions and new flex xp insoles aren’t a great fit at all.

Thanks for the email.

Apologies for the delay.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to assist you further.

We would advise that you speak with your local pro who may be able to help.

Alternatively, if you look online, you may be able to source the correct insoles.

Again, apologies that we’re not able to advise you further.

I saw on amazon you can buy ortholite insoles. Not specific to the pro sl but at least something you can put in there to replace the current insole.

I think the footjoy model looks close to the X25 so I would replace it with that one

Thanks for that will have a look, I have Salomon runners with orholite insoles and they don’t really fit, too skinny. I think ortholite make them for so many brands it’s pretty varied from brand to brand.

Insoles arrive quickly. Material is a match, sock liner much thinner and overall cushioning only about half as thick as originals. Fit in show not perfect but not too bad , probably about 6/10 as a replacement. A version with double the thickness would be 8/10.

Looking up some of the literature for the Pro SL, I see references to the Otholite Impressions Fit-bed.  The Ortholite literature on their Impressions technology indicates that it is best used as a top layer on a firmer base.  Makes me think that what was originally in the shoe was a two piece insole with the Impressions layer on top that Ortholite made specially for FootJoy.

The top layer is the sock liner part which has totally worn through, the bottom part is the green cushioning part.  The new insole has similar construction but both layers are thinner.

Understood.  In any case, if the FootJoy literature stating that they use the Impressions insole is correct and the Ortholite information is also correct, I'd guess that the original insole (not including the sock liner) is probably a dual layer insole.  In any case, it would mean that even if the original is a single layer insole, that it is different than what you ordered (X25).

Bummer, I made the best guess I could. Looking at the ortholite website however it is good that a least it looks like a material match.

As Cardigan said, it could be a proprietary blend for the pro SL which is a little frustrating. It might be worth trying an impressions just to see if that gives you a better feel. I am not sure if that was is easier or harder to find than the X25

They are the certainly the best ones that seem available. Can’t find impressions anywhere, comparing the insoles there is little or no difference in construction. It just the sock liner part is a thicker material and the cushioning part is thicker also. They would actually work well, except that the shoes are a little loose with them, I’ll certainly try them for 9 holes tomorrow.

That’s not a good answer… Did you contact Ortholite? They must have a pair of insoles for those. At the very least, have a similar insole that won’t wear as fast.

Thanks for that, you can see above that I got them but they are about half the thickness of the original. I threw out the proSLs, their waterproofing have up too. Still mostly wear footjoy but am careful never to pay close to full retail as they don’t stand over shoddy quality.

Take the originals to a running shoe store, they probably have 20 different inserts, surely you'll find something close if not better

You need something with arch support, pretty sure that's why you wore a hole in that location.

Weird that in 47 years have never worn out an insole in the same place and as you can clearly see the proSL has significant arch support anyways,  but I guess you’re the expert.

No, I'm no expert.  I've had running shoes insoles wear out in the same spot and been told by by people that seem knowledgeable about the matter that is an indication that I need additional arch supports.  Just trying to help out.
