Is it worthwhile keeping them around in hopes that they'll be a collectible years down the road?

I'd say mostly the irons are sought-after or a few Oven putters. I don't think the woods have held their value that well. Unless it's some super one-off kind of thing.

Nike Vapor Fly Pro (The Brooks driving iron) comes to mind as a "recent" club that's sought after. And then a lot of the older Nike blades from the Tiger era.

A set of mint blades is about the only thing that hat might hold value to some folks. The playability has become more apparent to folks now that I hey are no longer, so some folks (like me) bought some to play.

But golf equipment as investment seems weird to me. So there is that.

Just like how everyone was going to stock up on old grooved wedges and they would retain/increase value for many years to come.  Unless it is new/great shape and one of the more desired pieces, I doubt it would get to the point of being considered a collectible.

Fwiw, the Vr Pro blades currently resale for more than I paid for my set back in 2011. Not sure if that's due to the clubs or artificial due to the golf boom, but they're more now than they were then, although I also got a heck of a deal on those. The original Forged Blades also seem to always be astronomical compared to other blades from that time. Seems to be some weird allure to them, maybe a holdover Tiger thing, who knows. Not sure Nike is just more valuable across the board than they were, but they don't seem to be destined for the bargain bin anytime soon, either.

A few months back, I sold a set of heads for $1400... Within a day of listing them.

Man, I'm glad you were able to move them for that but good lord! I bought mine for $400 in 2011. Crazy that heads now are going for triple that!

First, they look new. Second, there aren't many lefty blade sets out there to begin with.

I have seen mint right hands listed for a grand, but haven't seen many sell for that. But double why you paid for sure.

Crazy is the story. So, I got two sets from Dallas Golf. $475 each. Found out they threw in a bunch of 6i shafts, so I got a $100/set refund. My wife jokingly says I should throw one set on eBay. I said, what the heck. I put the heads (which I was into for $375) up. Woke up - sold. 😂

They were new still in plastic. That being said, I challenge you to find any 12+ year old heads that would fetch that price (that aren't exotics).

I couldn't find any Nike blades when I was looking, let alone new at any price.

I have only seen a handful of them since, but I moved on. They are great clubs.

Bought the same deal from Dallas Golf and recieved a similar refund. Not sure I can ever part with my set, although I haven't played a round with them, only on the range. I bought the blade 2 iron as well.

That's hysterical lol. I do wonder if it's the clubs or due to the sudden demand for used golf equipment? It seems like a lot of older stuff I've looked at out of curiosity lately have been selling for more than what I thought they would've been. But nowhere near the gem you got out of those Nike's lmao

Wow.  Good to know.  I was hoping that my Method Matter M5 putter would be worth something but seems the shiny blades are worth the $$$.
