Evnroll Gravity Grip

abenjami

Recommended Posts

I just got an ER2 with a Gravity Grip. I gave it to my son but I did try it on the practice green for numerous putts.
It is very, very stable. I struggle with oversized grips on really long lag putts and the Gravity Grip was not an exception to this problem ( for me). But on short and mid length putts, stand by; it’s really good.
But , I think results are going to depend on the individual golfer’s tendencies.

I have one on my ER2 - specs are in my signature. I really like it, but it took a bit of getting used to. Maybe it was just getting used to a new putter. The putter is much more face balanced than I was expecting (I didn't know about the impact it had on face balance prior to buying it) but it still works with a small (as in, it's noticeable) arc. It's slimmer than the grip I had on my prior putter, and I've changed grips to suit.

I definitely feel as though my putting has improved with this putter but I also can't really quantify that through Arccos.

One, I didn't know that this would make an ER2 face balanced, but now that I know that I may have to start looking for one lol.

I have it on my ER10 though, and I was nervous about it at first too. But the slightly skinny but deeper grip really fits well in my hands. I've usually had some counter balance, so I was used to that concept, so it was a win for me.

I may even get the gravity grip logo one for my SIK when it arrives.

I had one on my ER2.2 and didn't care for it. The length from front to back felt very awkward and I could really feel the weight in my finger tips rather than feeling it go down the center of the shaft. I rolled it ok but all in all felt too uncomfortable and awkward to keep it long term. The last thing I want to be on a putting green is uncomfortable. I think the 1.2 Non Taper is Evnroll's best grip.

Has anyone tried the GG on a putter that’s already face balanced? Does it screw up the balance any?  I really like how it makes the ER2 face balanced, but I want to throw one on an Odyssey Ten.

I don't think it would screw up the balance.  I think the reason it balances a non-balanced putter is because of the weight in the grip and where it's located.  It forces the club to balance.

I actually took the gravity grip off my ER2.  I’m someone who puts both thumbs down the front of the grip and the gravity grip just isn’t wide enough to do that comfortably.  I wish it came in a slightly wider version because I really liked it otherwise.

Too square and hefty. Have a couple of them gathering dust in my garage. They ruined my feel entirely. Went for a WINNPRO X 1.18" on my ER 1.2 and it worked dandy (BTW, unless you want to mess with tip weights, placing such a heavy grip on ANY putter will counterbalance the thing and mess with your feel)

I also hated it. Slippery and oddly shaped imo. Probably one of the worst feeling grips I've ever used

I'm a convert. Rolled an ER2 in GG and really liked the feel. Did some research and threw a black/gray one on an Odyssey 1w Versa I've had for years. Totally changed the putter. I have lead tape on all my putters and adding the grip just made it so stable and easy to roll putts with. I was also concerned about the weight, but it seems to really wear the weight well because of where it's located and the fact it goes from top to bottom. Looking to throw one on a couple more putters for craps and giggles.

I've noticed an improvement on my short putts and short swings. When I start to get 8+ feet I feel like its actually causing me to block a lot of putts and not get back to square once I have opened up a little. Obviously could be all me as well but that's my initial feedback having it on this year so far.

I guess I'm the odd man out on this one.  I just couldn't get comfortable with it.  I ended up replacing with a Super Stroke Pistol 1.0.  Love my black ER5.  Found the lighter and smaller grip gave me the feel I prefer.  Nothing wrong with GG.  All comes down to what you feel comfortable with.

  • 2 weeks later...

I used to have a FlatCat big boy on my putter as I prefer that flatter right side for my right hand.   Went to a GP SNSR Contour Pro 140cc and have loved it.  That said I picked up a Gravity Grip on a used putter in GG and was putting with it and loved the flat side.  It’s lighter than the SNSR Pro right so it would make the head feel heavier?   My putter is a PING Ketsch.

Yeah the GP SNSR Pro is 124g

the Gravity grip is presumably 100g

( they don’t give total weight just foam that weighs 30g and a steel rod that weighs 70g)

so the gravity grip is 24g less than the GP.  This would make the head feel heavier, no?

im putting so well right now I’m hesitant to switch but feels so good with the putter grip (on a different putter) in store.
