I hear ya.  Pros will listen, but yet some recreational players stick to the old "blades will make me a better ball striker" way of thinking 🙂

I understand their thinking. However, “back in the day” when I was starting to get better at this game, I got a Mizuno MP-29 5-iron with the same shaft as my Titleist 982-B’s. I would practice with the Mizuno 5-iron because if I could groove a swing that could hit the center of that face, I would be better player. However, I knew I wasn’t good enough to take them to the course.

My point….you can get one blade to practice with to better your game, but still take some equipment that will allow you to clear that water with a slightly miss-hit shot.

Most recreational players aren’t worried about a razors edge difference in winning a tournament like Jordan is. They just want to enjoy playing and hitting balls and trying to improve.

Exactly the reason they should play clubs that will help them the most.

I hear that a lot.  But you can practice with a GI iron and groove a swing that will hit the center of the face as well.

That said. Im a firm believer in play what you enjoy.  Who am I to tell somebody what to play.  I just don’t personally believe I would gain anything by training myself to learn to hit a smaller tougher to hit iron.

Saw these in person today. My impressions:

T100 - absolutely one of the best looking irons I've seen in a long time. Compared it next to the 620 MB and there is not a whole lot of difference at address. The MB topline is slightly thinner, but not by much. Offset is negligible between the two. Blade length/size looked identical to me. The satin finish looks way better than previous polished model. An even more dense tungsten in toe and heel, and more of it. 8-PW has none, basically blades. These will be hard to beat I think .

T100s - didn't get to see it. Rep explained it is a slightly different design than T100. About 10 grams more tungsten in toe and heel, and an elastomer (I think he said?) type covering above it, but not visible. Looks exactly the same as T100 though.

T200 - drastic improvement in looks over the previous. At address, it looks great. Minimal offset, small and compact, not chunky at all. Can see a lot of people playing these in the longer irons (1i,2i, 3i).

U505 - looked ok to me, compact, shorter blade height than previous models, but can definitely see the back of the club a lot at address. Not a huge fan. T200 in longer versions may be better, at least in looks.

I'm thinking I might upgrade and combo them this time. Been in T100S  bent 1 weak since they came out except PW which is 2 weak. Then a T100 50*. Think I'll go 6-8 in T100S bent 1-1.5 weak and T100 in 9-GW. Having hit the T100 a lot there isnt really any forgiveness difference from 8i down, but 6-7 are markedly more forgiving in my experience and I have no idea why.

I just got done with some testing of players cavity (z745) vs MB's (z945) of my own. I'll post the whole thing in the equipment forum soon. But with over 100 shots total, I found that while my mishits were worse with the MB's, 16% more of my shots with were within 5 yards more or less than my average shot distance with the MB

It wasn't a perfect test but I saw a few reasons why it could be statistically better to go blades over cavities with other reasons to go cavity over blades. But it wasn't as big of a difference as I expected.

I was able to hit both the T100 and the T200 today.

T100: Looks amazing. You definitely do NOT see the “bar” on the back of the club at address. It is even more subdued when looking at it vs. the pictures.  Definitely less offset than the previous version.  Really does look like the CB’s.  Feels like the CB’s too.

T200: Looks like the 718 AP2’s. Really compact with a “thinner” topline. Not quite last year’s T100 topline, but closer to the last iteration of the AP2. Feel…for me, it felt a little clanky. Of course, feel is subjective and I urge you to try it before dismissing it all together.

Both heads look amazing though.

Saw them today, didn't get to hit due to a bad back.  I'd say pretty accurate assessment.  I'd say T200 are somewhere in between the AP2 and AP3 from 718.

For those who have seen them live, how do you think they flow in a T100/T200 combo set given the brushed finish on the T100 and chrome T200? Are the differences less pronounced in person?

Cant wait to read more once they are released and try them out in a fitting asap.

This is the worst decision a company can make.  I honestly have no idea who thought that would be smart.  The entire point of weakening lofts on the T200 was to be able to blend them with T100/T00S.  T200 was made smaller in order to be able to combo them, but yet they decided to make the finish look so different.

These are pretty impressive. The leading edge is a little strange though. Has a bit of wedge curve to them. Might just be the way the toe is shaped but I see some roundness.

Otherwise. These are the most solid feeling hollow body iron I have ever hit. I couldn’t tell in the slightest.

launch and spin numbers right where they should be.

I’m confused. The T100 isn’t a hollow body.

“Hollow” like the Apex where it has tungsten placed within the body, or hollow like the T200/P790/PXG, etc, where the inside is literally empty or filled with goo?

More apex or HMB. No goo. At least not that I am aware of.
