From that pic , they look better than the current version. I need to see more before I totally dismiss.

Yeah, that’s fair. I should really do the same.

I don’t like that “Mi” thing on the badging however.

Assume Lanto's bag bodes well for a black version of the new T100 eventually?

For the folks who have held or hit the T200, what is the definitive answer on the back plate material?  I've heard polymer, lightweight steel, aluminum, etc.  Does it look to be durable?

I hit the T200 on Tue and the Titleist rep confirmed the back plate is polymer.

Is polymer just a fancy term for plastic? It felt like plastic to me.

Well in short yet, but it is different.  Metal on the back might not have been feasible at this price range.  The would rather use tungsten in the heal and toe than to put all that weight that far back in an iron.  Not sure why everyone is complaining about it.

I do not care one way or another. I honestly did not know what "polymer" was. I had to look it up. I'm a little dense up top.

Curious as to what this polymer is as well, as the pros at my place that hit them isn’t say they felt cheap or anything.

My concern isn't so much what its made of, it's the fact that is a separate piece that might come off at some point.  I had the original Callaway X-tours and the badges came off the back of a couple of them.  It will be interesting to see how these hold up over time.

Exactly. You can’t weld/fuse/laser a polymer to a metal. All you can do is apply an adhesive and hope that holds up. Only time will tell but, at this price point, I wouldn’t feel very warm and fuzzy about the back of my club being glued together with a piece of plastic.

These are pretty impressive. The leading edge is a little strange though. Has a bit of wedge curve to them. Might just be the way the toe is shaped but I see some roundness.

Otherwise. These are the most solid feeling hollow body iron I have ever hit. I couldn’t tell in the slightest.

launch and spin numbers right where they should be.

Good catch on the sole design, Bob Vokey had  some input on the design of the new T100, the sole  features a grind with a little heel relief along with some added bounce in the toe area to help with turf interaction

Outside of it coming off completely, I would think the concern could be that they would crack or break due to bag chatter and/or throwing them in and out of your trunk. The leading edge of your 5 iron bangs into the back of your 7 iron and cracks it?

Yes, that or any other number of ways it could get damaged.  Think about when you are going fast in a cart and hit a big joint in the cart path.   Clubs slam around all the time.  Titleist has great engineers and I'm sure they've considered these kinds of issues but the fact that it appears it's basically just a plastic cap over the back of the club doesn't inspire confidence.

When did the T100’s become a hollow body design? Or where did you hear this?

Weren’t the last version forged? Or is it a forged face with a forged body like the 718’s? Maybe I’m way off but I would not consider those a hollow body like the i500’s or p790’s

So that means it’s not a hollow body, correct?

If there's TPE or TPU or similar material in the head, it is a hollow body design.  Does anyone know?

No TPE or TPU material  type insert in the T200.  But it's not hollow either.  There is the Max Impact piece and some tungsten if I recall correctly

So there’s no goo, no TPU, no insert whatsoever, but it’s obviously hollow…otherwise there wouldn’t be a polymer back. The max impact reactor is a small piece pressing against the back of the face, if it’s anything like the previous MIR.

Something’s gotta give. This isn’t adding up.

From what I was told the polymer backing is strictly cosmetic to hide the MI and the cavity, which yes is very simiar to the previous version, but they heard the complaints about its visual appearance.    Definitely no goo of any sort.  Everything that was placed behind the backing-MI, tungsten etc. was done to place it precisely to fine tune sound and feel, as opposed to injecting material and hoping it spreads correctly.

Appreciate the insight. It just seems so weird that you could pop off a plastic plate and see the guts of the iron.

Yep, somewhere in the whole slideshow he showed me was a cut out of the irons.   But I was probably more focused on the in hand samples than the PP, and didn't' grasp all the details...ha   But it looked pretty clean inside, but still covered it up with the backing.

I think im the only one who jumped fast on the tmbs. Even stronger lofts and polymer caps just can't justify having the newest irons. I don't play enough for t100 and It's been a win win for me so far grabbing some tmbs for cheap. The forgiveness has boosted a ton of confidence now, Especially knowing msrp was once 280.
