Major #3 of the season. Strong field. Quality TV schedule, including 10 hours of streaming on Peacock.

Weather may be a factor with showers and possible t-storms all four days. 'Hopefully no significant delays.

Anyone planning to attend? I noticed that they aren't allowing drawstring bags on the course. That's very odd, as every event I've attended has allowed a small bag for carrying sunscreen, water, battery packs, etc.

Someone at KPMG must have gotten pretty rich with a bribe.....Maria Fassi an invite....LMAO.

Unlike Maria who's major American corporations behind her; Yealimi may have to change her country and her profession if she doesn't bounce back.

I wouldn't particularly mind watching a big chunk of the coverage on Peacock ... except for the fact that I won't be watching during the times that the broadcast is on Peacock (for the most part).  I'll end up watching the network coverage off the DVR but I assume that I'll be SOL at getting to see most of the Peacockoverage.

Really do not remember anything about the AAC course from any of the preceding events that were held there.

Rolex Ranking Watch

Rolex froze their ranking for more than half a year in 2020, as a result Jin Young Ko has stayed on top of the ranking for a long time.  But, all good things come to an end, and the end of her reign maybe in sight.

For the first time in a long time, two players are now within 1.00 of Jin Young Ko in Rolex Ranking:

Jin Young                          9.08

Inbee                                 8.66

Nelly                                  8.17

Inbee needs to outgain Jin Young by 20.0 at KPMG to take over #1 and Nelly needs 44.0.  For comparison, Inbee has outgained Jin Young by 57.42, Nelly has outgained Jin Young by 85.41; in 2021.

That's rather generous for Brooke.  She is just in a bit of a different spot right now.  But, she does seem to like this event so who knows, it could be a great "bounce back" week for her.  I would also keep an eye out for Jennifer Kupcho this week too.  She may surprise as well as Hannah Green.

I don't think Jennifer is going to win anything until she gets that putter figured out. She averaged 30 putts per round at the Meijer, with 31 putts on Sunday. By Comparison, Brittany averaged 27 PPR.

Who do you think will be the next Patty Tavatanakit or Yuka Saso?  Both had odds of more than 100/1 before winning.

Atthaya Thitikul would be a good pick, but she isn't in the field; maybe Matilda Castren at 90/1?

Nah, no longshots this week -- not that Yuka or Patty were real longshots (at least to those who followed them closely).      I suspect more like Jennifer Kupcho or perhaps Hannah Green as a repeat winner!     Who knows though ... In Gee is playing with confidence and seems very happy at the moment and that can only bode well for her.

sadly, this is the KPMG, I can't do my "who is <insert name>"  anti-jinx = win quote LOL... will have to wait for nxt yr's US Open

for now, I'll just keep quiet and hope my player(s) play consistent... (they can play inconsistent like last year - ill take  rounds 2 and 3 but not 1 and 4 :P)

Finally you've made a post worth replying to and KUDOS for being one step ahead of me.

Yes....great advise to Yealimi.....she should get her agent to start making some calls into the Mainland.

Yani refused the $25M offer, use of a luxury villa and private jet if she changed her citizenship to The Great People of China.

I hope this happens with Yealimi.....so I have a fellow countrywomen that I can really fanboy and support.....I'll be so happy like this kid.

I assume this offer is still on the table because we have not heard Crazy Lucy Li or Rose Zhang snagging up the offer.

My gut say's take Inbee..my heart always wants me to take the not so obvious choices though. I'm a natural fan of the slight underdog. I feel like this is the week of a Jutanugarn.

So..I gotta take Leona, who will likely run out of steam this week lol. Oh well if she does.
Dark horse...I'll go with Xi Yu Lin again.

Tough call this week. A handful of players are on hot streaks heading into the tournament, but a number play the majors solidly.

I'm going with Nasa this week. She finished T3 last year, and T2 in 2018. She also finished 2nd at the USWO.

Lydia and Inbee should be in the hunt if Inbee's description of the rough is correct. Maybe Lydia's errant drives won't be quite as punishing.

I'd like to see In Gee up there as well. Always been a solid ballstriker, and her putter seems to be getting hot.

One step in the right direction

KPMG NAMED OFFICIAL DATA AND ANALYTICS ADVISOR OF THE LPGA TOUR

"DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., June 22, 2021 – In partnership with the LPGA, KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, will further elevate women’s sports by introducing KPMG Performance Insights, a game-changing technology platform that will provide data insights and advanced performance analytics for the LPGA Tour. The solution will be launched this week at the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club and implemented across all LPGA Tour events."

"The introduction of full-field shot-level data and advanced analytics through KPMG Performance Insights, such as strokes gained, proximity averages and performance indexing, is the next step toward the long-term progression of data on the LPGA Tour and provides critical information for players to diagnose and improve their performance."

I'm assuming that the data won't be publically available. We'd all love to crunch some of the numbers.

It's so crazy how someone so unathletic looking can be such a great golfer.....same with Shanshan but not at Winbee's level though.
