Now you are getting to the UK. Northern Ireland is not part of (Great) Britain but part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Yeah thanks. In Wikipedia’d immediately after I made to comment and corrected it. It gets confusing for us Texans. We pretty much raised believing there’s Texas and then everything else is just not-Texas. 😂

That's it. Let's have a movie on instead, muppets. TBF it is on GC from 4am to 3pm West Coast time - and I am hoping to carve out 5hrs of viewing time in the evening - but the entire first wave won't be on it and that effs me off.

Peacock totally triggers me 🤣

Right there with you.  Last time I tried to conform and get it to work , I quit after being 45 minutes in , and just went outside.  As I recall it wants to know my satellite company info snd password.  Who has any clue what that is.  It’s 20 years old at least.  If I ever made one.  And on and on.  Nothing like data gathering plus aggravation to watch something that should  just be a flip of the switch away.

That would be interesting…..I would like to see you do that.

Never mind the match play….name 200 players that won four times in a year including a major.

image.png.e352112d61576d406f789598c5851e7a.png

there are roughly 150 players who won a single major. Not sure of the relevance of winning multiple times in a single year, rather than over a period, but whatevs..

Im sure I could give you 50 others who had extremely successful careers without a professional major. Westwood and Montgomerie come to mind. Fitzpatrick has won more titles than Rogers. Thats not even getting into guys like Wolstenholme and Bonallack with outstanding amateur records..

what was the bet 😉?

Having worked maintenance id bet money on them casting lots of some sort to get the job. And I’d also bet that the list of approved people for it was short a few key screw ups.  lol.

Wow, clearly we are not speaking the same language if you thought I asked who had better careers than Rogers. Although even if I did Fitzpatrick doesn’t really come close.

We are on the same page regarding majors. I think anyways. Westwood and Monty definitely had better careers imo but to some the majors mean more.

We are definitely not in agreement when it comes to comparing amateur records to pros.  Next it will be multiple club championship wins beats a guy that won the Open and reached #2 in the rankings.

Enjoy the discourse….should be a great Open if the media, and Brooks can drop this stupid “feud”.

Nice! 😄

Ya he reminds me of the older Johnny Marr, Bobby Gillespie types from Soccer AM back in the 2000s, who'd be a wee bit hungover on a Sat morning. If you're UK-based, otherwise that analogy doesn't work.

Mark my words...this year's open may not be won by bryson but him.being forced to layup off the tee more is going to be a teaching moment for him that will pay off hugely. I think he puts himself in non-optimal spots often enough to waste shots here and there. Instead of driver to 50 yards from the green to a front pin, he needs to lay back more often. This year's open could make him see that.

Well said.  This streaming nonsense across different platforms is just another obnoxious money grab.   I'd rather not watch at all than give in... and I don't.

Just wait until you have to pay to stream NFL games that aren't in local area. They teased it with the test last year.

For the inevitable upcoming WRX whine-a-thon about NBC/GC/Peacock coverage of the Open Championship please refer those people to these articles about the challenges in covering the event during the UK C19 restrictions. They have to use the R&A world feed for the event due to the lack of people on the grounds. Very little if any control over what shots are going to be shown. I know it won't stop people from whining about the coverage but maybe some will read and learn. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 😁:classic_biggrin:

I like Phil more than ever for saying how it is 🙂

I'll say another thing of how it is... it's the only tournament where people are obnoxious enough to correct others for the name they use for the tournament.

Interesting article on the names used for the event.

This thing tees off in 10 minutes and coverage hasn't started yet. I paid the $4.99 for "Peacock" expecting I would get some crappy coverage, but maybe it was too much to ask to see the opening tee shots? Hasn't even started yet and it's already garbage.

Edit: Complained too soon, they showed the tee shots. If you're on the fence, I think it's worth $4.99. Not the greatest coverage but at least you get to watch golf.

Course is playing exceptionally easy, almost three birdies on the first hole in the first group. Someone could shoot 59 out there.

So IOW 1 guy in the first group out in the tournament made a birdie on the first hole. Amazing. I mean has that ever happened before in professional golf? So based on 1 player making a birdie on the first hole a 59 is in play? Please. Makes as much sense as your incorrect Tiger takes. You can bet the house on it. 🤣

4 of the first 9 players out are already over par on an exceptionally easy course in your words. Will they break 100? What say you?

OMG a second player birdied the first hole out. Maybe the R&A should cancel the event?  It's sooooo easy. Calling it now. Someone shoots 47.
