That's just the UKs rules though, athletes are fortunate to have been exempted to a certain extent & can prepare for the event as a result.

My sister-in-law just got back from greater London. The protocols are draconian and they will check in on you.

Booking another trip across the pond for June 2022 and trying to work it out to play RSG - spending a week in St. Andrews then a week down in London.

 

Gonna be cool to play The Old Course a month before next year's Open.

When you sort through all the BS it still boils down to one thing that's perfectly clear. Revenue from fans is the #1 priority for the R & A. Not players.

Id say just stay home and enjoy the summer but if it is after July 1 sure yeah play then Canadian socialist open. These countries act like they are great at coming up with deals for CV19 on when it will go away.

As for people crying about the Covid restrictions on players. They probably don't affect you, so why are you so butt hurt about it? 

 

There seems to be a lot of upset and/or angry people on the forum at the moment. If anyone need a chat or a virtual hug. DM me.

They would have played the event last year instead of cancelling it if that is there stance even with international travel being greatly restricted at that time & the R&A would still have got good crowd numbers for the week. With having one of the highest levels of cumulative excess mortality rates across Europe last year from the deadly pandemic it's not too much to ask for these cautionary measures to be put in place this year if it means the event can go ahead. If it adds additional pressures of a being called 'Champion Golfer of the Year' then so be it. I'll applaud the guy that handles the challenge best, no matter where they're from.
