I'm good with any of the top 3 winning at this point ... they would all make worthy champs after a 2 year break.

Spieth still favourite for me. His recovery skills are the best out there. Morikawa is superb when in position, but will he be able to keep it straight all day? Louis just started to look jaded to me - a bit like a marathon runner who has led from from the start but can sense the chasing pack closing.

Not shaky, just a little jaded. Leading from day 1 must take something out of you. 

 

I don't subscribe to him being a choker - he won this by 7 strokes in 2010. I think he's been unlucky (bubba hitting that shot at Augusta) and outplayed (Rahm's birdie-birdie finish).

I'm rooting for him ... and I wouldn't call him a choker, either ... he just hasn't been able to close the deal since 2010. Maybe today will be his day.

I’m not British, so not sure my opinion matters. But 81°, sunny/clear skies and only 7mph of wind! What am I watching here. This is NOT Open Championship weather.  ☀️ 🏖

I think Morikawa reminded Louis of one of those cheesy 80s car chases yesterday.

 

The hero would be driving a Ferrari or Porsche and flooring it while being chased by the villain in a Mack Truck. Every time the hero looked in his rear view mirror the truck was closer.

 

Same thing yesterday. Morikawa kept hitting into the hay but kept on coming and getting closer

This sort of weather happens for a stretch or two a summer in the UK.  It’s just rare that it happens to fall right during Open week.   Remember too this course is very far south.  That said, even Troon and St Andrew’s are having great weather this weekend.  It’s only 65-70 but also sunny with little wind

Contrary to popular belief, really bad weather is more the exception than the rule at the Open. Sunday was a bit tough at Portrush, but before that, Carnoustie was glorious in 2018, Birkdale was good in 2017, as was Troon in 2016.

 

All three of Tiger's wins have been on dry, fast links. And further back there was the infamous duel in the sun ☀️

BIG gap between really bad and 81° w/o a cloud in the sky and no wind…Typically it’s somewhere in between. But I get it.

I meant to post something yesterday about pace of play.  At the end I noticed that LO and CM were more than a hole behind the group in front of them.  Then I looked at the clock, and they were still going to come in under 4 hours!!

 

I have no idea why, but whatever it is needs to be implemented everywhere.
