PING i210 replacement when?

Recommended Posts

I would expect a very similar design in overall size, but the toaster weight will be gone. Replaced by a toe screw and some internal design… similar to the i59, but more focused on forgiveness than workability.

More speculatively, I'd expect that the 710 and 4xx line will line up so they can be blended at any club - same with the 59/210. I'm imagining they'll be actively looking to have emphasis on the long-mid irons for the 230s.

I can't for the i230 and iCrossover to get released! I'm already planning my next iron set up:

4i = iCrossover

5i-7i = i230

8i-PW = i59

I think this is a very settled answer.

The Blueprints are a fifth category.

i59 are an iBlade replacement.

i230, due out next year, will replace the i210.

i525, due out next year, will replace the i500

g430 is rumoured to replace the g425, but that's too far out to know.

g710 has no known replacement in the near future.

Do the names suck? Well, it's no Rocketballz, but it's a pretty well known path on WRX.

When can we expect the i210 replacement?

Glide 4s are expected, but not sure for PGA. Probably focusing on GFP, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm a bit of a Ping loyalist. Been in their irons and wedges for quite some time, at least 10-15 years (G15-G400-G425). I'm a 4-5 handicap and ready to play something more players'ish but the i210's, in the setup I tried (AWT shafts) spun to much for my liking. I'm not a fan of the feel of the G425. Was thinking of going with the new Mizuno hollow body iron (225). If Ping FINALLY updates their 210's (and glide wedges) I'll have to give them a serious look before I buy my new clubs for 2022. I love my Glide 2.0 stealth wedges too.

I’m the opposite, I’m not a ping fan. Just interested in the i210 to demo. If you are a loyalist, try the i500 replacement coming out. There are pictures in some of the other threads.

I don't think they've been hidden, I think they've had a hard time coming up with something better then the i210 they have out right now. Curious to see if these actually are announced early 2022 or get pushed out further.

I'm a gigantic Ping homer and for the first time in a long time I've put a different brand in my bag. Went from a G410 LST to a G425 LST and now game the Titleist TSI3. I honestly think I'd have to rank these drivers Tsi3, 410, then the 425. Felt the distance fell of substantially from the 410 to the 425. Tsi3 is longest I've played and just as forgiving as Ping.

That being said, game the i210's and will not replace these until the next gen come out. Once they're out, I'll give them some time on the market and test them before transitioning to them.

I dont have the tour anymore so I can't compare them directly. Just based on memory, they seem roughly the same size, perhaps a bit shorter blade length. The i59 has a longer blade length than the 223's.

You can’t order them anymore. So there has to be something new.

Titleist makes great drivers. I just didn’t like the shape of tsi3

How have they hidden them so well?

In plain sight.

I think they'll end up looking a lot like the GFP. They may also be a couple months late. We just saw the 525 on here, but a rep showed me he'd actually posted the 525 in the clubhouse on the board - I just hadn't been by in a while. It could happen.

Is the new one forged?

Well I got confirmation that the i210 5 irons are out till June/July of 2022. Just cancelled my order from Sept that was supposed to ship next month.
I am sure the 230’s will be out by the summer so will keep playing the 200’s till then.

Seems strange that the 210 would come in this summer when a replacement is coming around the same time

Did you see the patent that was shared?
also everything ping is coming out with now has the word forged on it

Yes I seen the patent but it's doesn't say anything about being the i230. It very well could be but I can not see PING adding another premium priced "forged" iron to their line up.

If it is forged, let's hope they can produce them at a competitive price!

No, this patent looks like the i525:

https://patents.google.com/patent/US20210322839A1/en?q=iron&assignee=Karsten+Manufacturing+Corporation&sort=new&page=2

There's a reasonable chance that this is used in both. Who knows? But the other patent doesn't have the signature 525 back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How do you know so much about ping? You’re the only one who seems to know the new i210 will be announced in January
