2021 Titleist T200

How’s this a mess of a line up. Titleist specifically said t100 is not an ap2 replacement but a new iron. Yes it’s the same category and to everyone else on the planet that’s what it meant. As I said though original t100 were a bit smaller and apparently new ones are even smaller.

There’s a ton of conflicting information on here, so I don’t think it’s worth debating until we get more info. But, if the T100 is closer to the CB/MB and, the T200 is really supposed to be the AP2 (which I don’t believe to be true), they’ve created a massive gap between the T200 and T300, and there’s not enough differentiating the CB and T100.

Not to mention, Titleist would be alienating a massive portion of their consumer base if the T200 really has become the new AP2. The majority of the players gaming the T200/AP3 are doing so because they weren’t ready/able to play an iron in the mold of the AP2.

Also, Titleist has never said the T100 is not a replacement for the AP2…of course they’re going to say the T100 is a new line. You aren’t going to sell much with a pitch stating it’s the same iron with a new name. The AP2 is Titleist’s staple. Like i said before, they aren’t reinventing the wheel.

You are a bit confused. Look at what I said and look at what Titleist said when they released their irons 2 years ago. I can provide you a ton of links If you don’t believe me.
Titleist -“new t series irons are not a replacement for ap lines, it’s totally a new series”

me and every YouTuber -“t100 is a replacement for ap2”

Of course it’s a replacement since it’s their “closest” iron to what ap2 was. However I also see their point 2019 t100 was smaller than ap2 and from what others are saying 2021 t100 is even smaller than that. You said they created a gap now if it’s not a replacement. One could say that’s true, but to them maybe these new smaller irons are even more forgiving than their old bigger ones. There are also rumors that they are ditching cbs (not sure I believe that), but if that’s the case of course they had to make these smaller to accommodate that some of the cb players will go into mbs and some into t100. So then your point is fairly accurate. However, the line up is still not a mess, all their irons got a bit smaller which is always a good thing. T300 is there for the hackers.
Maybe T100s should’ve been called T150 then since it seems this years t100s model is more differentiated than just lofts (apparently has some bar).
It seems this year they thought about blending sets more seriously based on lofts.
T100 player will probably use up to t100 4 iron then go into t200 3

T100s player will probably use up to 6/7 t100s then into t200 so lofts are a lot easier to keep within the gaps needed, but I have no idea why they’d make satin in 1 set and chrome in another.

I appreciate the conversation and your insight. Hopefully we get more clarity on this once the embargo is lifted.

Hell let’s just hope they can put irons on the shelf and not on back order for 6 months

Everything in the world is backordered right now. Doesn't matter the industry. And the T100 has never been on backorder for 6 months. Maybe 8 weeks, but no where near 6 months.

They look so good. I hate that it bothers me, but something about the entire back of the club being a plastic cover doesn’t sit well with me.

Agree, especially when they are probably $200 or more a stick. They do look very good.

The Titleist reps were at my home course today fitting the local pros.  He let me hit a few balls with the T200 and they felt great.  The back is a polymer but it looked good.  Top line is a little thicker than the T100 but the offset looked about the same.  According to the rep, the lofts for 8-P are the same as the current T200 but are 1 deg weaker for the 7 iron on down.  Titleist will be back at our range in Aug and I will get fitted for T200  🙂

Hit these today. I like it nice shape but the leading edge is kinda funky. It has some wedge like curve to it.

they have a real nice feel though. For a hollow iron I honestly could not tell. Most solid hollow iron so far in my opinion.

performance was right there. Not overly hot  off the face. Perfect launch and spin all right where you would expect it.

just that leading edge is kinda strange to my eye.

Why did they make the soles satin on one model and chrome on another. If they are meant to be comboed this is dumb.

The T300 has the chrome finish.  Titleist feedback from the customer that plays that line of club likes the new and shiny appearance.

Most better players prefer a dull or brushed steel finish to look at address.  So the T200 down has that finish.

Ok and I could be remembering incorrectly as it’s been a bit.  But I was pretty sure the top line of the T200 was the brushed steel finish.  Which is what the player sees at address

Speaking of the T200, it's my understanding the one piece forging includes the face, hosel, sole, top and the sides.  Then tungsten added in the long irons, some sort of hot melt to fill the cavity and then the polymer plate is attached to the back.  I'd call that a hollow design.

In their brochure they don't even call it a hollow iron, U505 is.  Hollow could mean different things to different people, but I am not sure other than the pic above of the T100 and being state that it is hollow. T100 is not hollow by any means.  T200 could be hollow or semi hollow whatever that means.

Really the wrong thread as I am talking about the 100s but I posted it wrong to begin with. Whoops..They are really good.. here are some more pictures. It is interesting how different the T100 and T100s heads are.

they have a different sole shapes. The T100s looking slightly slimmer to my eye.. Plus a huge chunk of tungsten right in the sweet spot where the T100 does not.

I took a picture so you can see it..

That Tungsten "strip" in interesting......i wonder how different the clubs feel and perform between the two.

Im thinking of a new comobo set of the T100-S and the T200's

Update- just spoke to Titleist and they are calling the it a "Muscle Cavity" for the T100-S. They said the Tungsten strip is to promote a better, higher ball flight with the 2 degrees less loft in comparison to the T100......the T100 has tungsten inside but it is not needed in the cavity because of the loft difference.

Pretty sure that is not a tungsten strip that you see in the back, that’s some polymer to lessen the overall weight of the head so that more tungsten (10 grams)can be added to the toe and heel area of the T100S model, versus the regular T100
