In your opinion, who has the best swing on tour (any tour - PGA, LPGA, KFT, etc)?

Efficiency and Simplicity:  Steve Stricker, Moe Norman (young Moe, not "Natural Golf" Moe)

So much of the "beauty" in the swing is based on the physical build of the player.  So, I'm not surprised no one mentions Moe.

PGA Tour Champions has Facebook video of Stricker on 14 yesterday.

His second shot out of the left rough was a rocket, and it looked like he hardly touched the ball!

Players:  Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Tiger Woods, David Duval, Annika Sorenstam

Model Swings:  Robert Rock, Steve Elkington, Tom Purtzer, Michelle Wie

And it's a great question...

It isn't bio-mechanically sound as people think it is. Aesthetics doesn't equal repeatability.

It's been a topic for a few years among people who are more into the details of biomechanics.

It's kind of like a car that looks good and looks like it would perform great, but there are some problems under the hood. Things don't match up as good as they could.

I know it's sacrilege to say this, and people will be huffing and puffing and blowing gaskets. 🙂

Exactly! Furyk was way more sound technically and we all know how that looks.

Tiger is miles better through impact, Scott probably has the prettiest back swing though.

Had the pleasure of being up close to Tiger in 2000. There has never been a better iron strike put on the ball. I've been at Foxwood and watched Moe Norman hit balls, but Tiger did it at speed and that iron swing was mesmerizing. 2000 Tiger, hands down, best swing ever. Coupled with his work ethic, it definitely cost him longevity, but the question isn't about the longest lasting swing.

Adam Scott's swing will always look better than Furyk or Trevinos swing for one reason, aesthetics.  He is just a better looking more graceful person physically.  But I would argue Adam is number 3 on this list of swings, even though he has more raw speed.

There are two types of people in this thread, those who like beauty, and those who like mechanics, Scott, Louie O, have pretty swings that are very efficient looking, but tend to break down under pressure, same with Woosnam.  Personally I'll take the guy with a few loops and crooked lines that can control the clubface.  Jack and Tiger never had the prettiest swings, but they worked under pressure.

Rory, Snead, Hogan were probably the best of both worlds, Tiger in the early 2000's as well.  I always liked Tom Watson's swing, quick rhythm and he always seemed to pure it.  Payne Stewart's had the best tempo in my opinion if you like smooth.  Ironically Watson's swing got better as he aged and quit winning majors, but his putting, once his strength fell apart.

If I had to pick I would go Watson or Snead all-time.

Why does Scott's swing if it is so mechanically sound not produce that greatnof results?

31 wins as a professional is "not producing that great of results"?

Yeesh.  I think we've got the bar set just a tad high here with regards to what is good and what is not when it comes to professional golf.

I got a great DTL view of AS hit a driver at the PGA Championship couple years ago.

Was struck how quiet and even elegant, lol, his backswing and downswing were

Then the ball was like a freakin cannon shot that kept rising on a laser straight line.

Was just like this, I could hear the music and everything 🤣

I think Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott are good models to follow for amateur's, I would say the same thing about Justin Rose as well. They don't really have any moves that are going to be too hard for am's to perform like getting super wide open at impact ala dustin johnson, JT and they have good solid fundamentals in place.
