A question for those of you who refinish old clubs

Where do you get decals for old clubs? Many years ago I refinished a couple of clubs myself, and I got my decals from Golfsmith and Golfworks, but nowadays Golfsmith is long gone and as far as I know Golfworks doesn't sell decals anymore.

I bought a stash on ebay, others have them from 30 years ago. There are people can reproduce them from a scan or even a clean photograph of a decal on a club. I have had some made from a scan that I was very happy with.

 

Post what you are looking for, hope someone has that and will send you a scan, and then get someone to turn that scan into a decal sheet. Its more work than the old days, but it can be done.

The decals aren't in the Golfworks catalog anymore, but I have heard that they still have them available.  You might want to contact their customer service department and see if they will help you.

I’ve contacted them and they checked the warehouse for me but replied that they no longer have any decals in stock.  
 

They did still carry whipping even though it wasn’t listed on their website but  not sure if they got more in stock after I bought the last few rolls they had.

 

 

As for decals, the best bet is to look on eBay or ask around here as some people have them still from years ago.   I have bought decals from a few people and every time I use one I first scan it into my computer to make a digital version so it can be printed at a future date once the originals are all gone.   
 

If the club I’m refinishing has a decal I don’t have or can’t find, I take a picture of the decal on the head and take it into Photoshop and clean it up to make a new decal.  I use a guy that creates guitar headstock decals to print my club decals.

I still have a stash of decals from back when I was in the club repair and alteration business. I'm too old and unmotivated to ever refinish woods again. Not looking to sell but can offer a few here and there to my fellow "classic" golfwrx members. PM me with your needs.
