They shouldn't be playing on that course it just doesn't grow grass well there for what ever reason. The tribute across the street has history of  bad greens that they have to replace a lot. So many issues it was better when it was in Los Colinas.  They also used to get a better field.

After this year if they do not get a better course I expect the LPGA will leave DFW and go somewhere else in Texas like the the woodlands.

Hitting off a bare baked out patch of fairway is not ideal....but many would rather hit there than the rough.

It's hard to just move venues...many many courses don't want to give up their course for 2+ weeks to hold a pro event.

The fairways are just a tad soft as they have been watering them to avoid further issues.

The HEAT DOME here has been devastating and moving east across Western Canada.

500+ heat related deaths.

Lytton, BC set several all time high Canadian heat records and then on Wed afternoon...raging fires basically burnt the town down/away.

We are unfortunately on track for another record setting bad year for forest fires....I assume the same will occur in parts of the US too.

Are your houses there insulated at all?  there's been a run on portable A/Cs and fans there for Costco LOL...

It might be hard but there are better venues in Texas.  Honestly the Byron Nelson isn't in good shape either.  Maybe the new PGA course in Frisco will be better for the tournaments.

They will keep an event in Texas just not in DFW for much longer if it stays where it is.

Looks like the weather is not cooperating so far. Soft fairways and greens, who does this benefit?

Good iron play I'd say. Jin Young should have a field day when play resumes.

'Wouldn't be shocked if this was reduced to a 54 hole tournament.

Of course they are insulated.  But, the problem is not many here were built with AC in mind as the historical temps in the summer rarely ventured higher than 29* . . . so of course, 38* - 42* in the Vancouver area was near catastrophic.  Plenty of heat induced deaths.  over 100 forest fires over the past few days as the forests and ground cover dried up quickly.

If this keeps up courses will have to start planting bermuda and then overseeding it for winter!  😄

This week's JLPGA event, originally scheduled for 4 rounds, is now reduced to a 36 hole event due to 2 days of bad weather. 🌧️

Didn't know if it was bec, well, TX didn't and you / we saw what happened in the winter to them...  We're obviously used to these wild swings in Ontario... And more so me, at 38C - having lived in tropical Asia where, well, 35C and 90% humidity is the norm...

42 might be a tad interesting there but if only for a few days, well, to me it's actually like going to Phoenix in the summer when borders were open then when I'd go hiking the Camelback Mtns ☺︎... PS I thought it's back to normal there now?  eg I see heat alerts all over but it's "only" 20C there now and high of not more than 25C... Stay safe though... covid and wildfires...

What is going on with tee times?  Why start at those times?

afternoon tee times auto adjusted to 620pm at the earliest... everything else just followed that afternoon wave....  morning tee times 120pm at the earliest... (at least per latest VOA announcement)

The last group in the early wave goes off at 3:10 local time so the entire early wave should get through with their second round. And then, the late wave will complete their second round late Saturday morning and they should be able to get a lot, maybe all, of the third round completed on Saturday. If all that happens, they could well get in the full 72 holes.

I literally debated this in my head while posting earlier. I agree good iron play is key in any situation. If it's wet enough the medium to short hitters are gonna need precision with the approach shots, possibly having to use a less lofted club due to lack of roll out from the drives.

Watched some of the guys playing in Detroit yesterday after a rain delay, zero roll on most drives. Cam Champ bombed one like 348 on the fly and the ball actually backed up about a foot or so lol.

The course appears to be playing tougher today. Only a handful of players under par in their 2nd round.

Guilty of not reading all 4 pages. Perhaps it’s been mentioned. The course looks horrible! Big dirt patches in that middle of some fairways! Ugh

Weather related?

All of Texas took a beating thanks a deep freeze back in February. Many, many golf courses get hit really hard. On the telecast yesterday, they mentioned how they brought in 4 football fields of sod for this course.

Everyone, total washout for me. Departure was delayed 3 hours yesterday due to flash flood warnings in my area. Even when making the 2.25 hour trek down to DFW there were spots of blinding rain and water accumulating on the roadways. Came in around 7, didn’t make sense to go to the course but oh well no harm dome today would be filled with golf (or so I thought) Weather forecast had rain early in the morning then cloudy the rest of the day then it suddenly changed. Pouring rain for hours. Tee times pushed back 4 times then boom!! Play would resume but no spectators allowed. My sister still wanted to see where the event was being played so we drove by. No one was there except security and a few voluteers. I parked and walked around. Mud, mud everywhere. The fairways are in terrible shape. Some have no grass to speak of. I saw Alana Uriell, Linnea Strom and Celine Herbin tee off before I figured I should leave. I could have tried to stay but didn’t. The course is part of a housing development and so there are public sidewalks and trails that go around the course but honestly it was so humid, muddy, the sun was out in full force.  It would not have been fun. Here are some fairway pics though of hole no.1 and 18

I want to think it's impressive switching to new irons on Tuesday and playing so well, but then I realize these tour pro's are good enough to adjust quickly.

I wouldn't suggest it after a win,...but she hasn't missed a beat.

BTW, she is a good interview also.  Nice to listen to.  Sweet gal
