My dream bag is almost complete. Hint: Miura and Artisan

Sooo to make a long story short.  I’ve had a couple sets of Miura irons over the past 5+ years.  Then about 2-3 months ago I had itch for something new. No real reason. Just had that club ho itch. So I sold the Miuras, bought some taylormade p770.  I liked them. But just wasn’t the same. 
 

But sometime in between all this I scheduled a fitting for Artisan wedges. I live only 30 mins away and has always been something I wanted to do! 
 

fast forward to last week. Had my Artisan fitting after a 2+ month wait. And it was awesome. Loved every minute of it. The experience alone was worth it. And can’t tell you how excited I am to get my new wedges in 6 weeks by the legend who has made Tiger and so many others clubs.... in the Nike Oven building. Truly awesome

however while there and speaking with Artisan I came to realization I would inevitably get Miuras back at some point.  So I spent the following 2 days selling my taylormades and tracking down some Miuras MC501 again. Found a set that was 95% new. Only issue was they had the wrong shaft.   So I also bought the Oban 115 shaft separately and those will all be in by the weekend.   And to top things off, Artisan is hooking me up and going to build my Miuras for me!! Put the right shafts on, grips, check lofts and lies and some custom ferrules. 
 

so I will now have my dream set of irons and wedges. All built by Artisan in the coming weeks!!

MT, DR, John, Jamie, etc. are great folks and I am very certain you will be more than pleased with final product. I have two sets of Artisan wedges (one of which was done before creation of player number system) and am anxiously awaiting the public introduction of the irons to go full Artisan in both irons and wedges.

Jamey is who I primarily worked with. He’s been amazing.  He did show me the irons and man they are sweet!!

I don’t think they do lefty wedges. But they do lefty putters

Obviously not complete. The Miura irons and Artisan wedges aren’t in yet of course. But the 3 old Miura wedges will be gone once the new wedges come in.   But in the meantime. Here’s a snapshot of my headcover game.

Are we best friends?? I’ve been eyeing those head covers for a while. I’ve seen Top Gun so many times it’s woven into the fabric of who I am as a person lol. 
 

Quick question… I’m thinking about going with Artisan wedges… but I also bought my Miuras used and want to have different Furrels put on them… how did you go about asking Artisan if they’d do it? Email them? (I swear I’m not copying you!)

haha. Me too. I grew up as a kid watching it over and over with my brother and step dad. He was a plane nut. We’d go to Carswell airforce base that’s around here and just watch the jets take off and land for hours when we were kids. 
 

actually when I went in for my fitting, they were measuring my wedges. Loft. Lies. Bounce etc and while waiting on them I was hanging around looking at everything. Mostly all the pros extra heads and shafts they keep stored in boxes with their names on them. Bryson. Day. Langer. Ancer. Reed. Etc. I was in awe.  But one guy there was working on a set of Srixon ZX7 irons. So I just asked my guy if they work on clubs other than artisan and he said sure. What ya need. ....  so not sure if it’s something they do off the street. I’d assume maybe only for customers?

Btw,  I didn’t neglect my driver and woods 😉 
 Autoflex shaft in my driver and Velocore blue in my 3w, 5w and 4H.   My bag is almost COMPLETE!!!   Haha.
