Most iconic / best / cult following clubs of all time?

Personally, I don't like updating my clubs every year but I will admit I am looking for a new driver despite loving my Nike SQ 5000. 

What driver is considered to be the "best"?

Thanks for all your opinions, I actually recently got the TS2 FW and I love it. 

I also game the Stainless Steel Newport 2 and love that club as well.

Tell you what man. There is an old R7q with a fresh grip in my closet.  It's there because I trust it. I know that at anytime I can drag it out and hit fairways. Haven't played it in years but it's not for sale.

Adam’s 9015D driver. 100’s if pages of love out there fir it back in the day.  Probably still as long or longer than most new releases.

Guy above me is right, eye 2s by far win this as the most iconic ever. They were "revolutionary" for their time and I still see quite a few people playing them at the course even to this day. All the modern high toe wedges are based off this design too, not to mention every cavity back iron. Every brand has had their best that's notable, v steel, steelhead, etc but early ping can't be beat. Heck if you generalize, think about the anser putter. That is a ping original and every company offers their knock off of it now a days. Karsten Solheim really was a man ahead of his time.

The one club, in all of my golfing years, that I regret no longer having.  A 15* V-steel "paint break" with a Graphite Design YS7+.  My driver started gathering cobwebs after I put this in the bag.

I gave my cousin the TM V-steel 3 metal awhile back.  It was in my bag from high school through college.  Another cult following that nobody's mentioned and that Phil made famous is the FT-9TA.  It's such a good driver that I had two of them at one point.  Punishing on mis hits, but ball speeds off the center of the face were crazy for me.

I had the RAC TP MB back in 2009.  Probably my favorite set of blades I gamed.  My dumbass decided to sell them so I could get another set of irons.  Thing is, they felt like butter and weren't difficult to hit.  Doh!!!

if the question is about a true "cult classic" in a truer definition, i'd say the Adams A4 Tech, commonly called the 9015D

 

The Adams was never popular mainstream with the lollygaggers and noodleheads who play on the weekends. But here it's probably one of the top 3-4 drivers of the past 15 years

I am not alone. 

There is a certain contingent of retirees at a neighboring course that the R-7 is a cult classic along with Ping Eye2s. In fact I sold one of those guys a r-7 Quad a few weeks ago

That is because about 95 % of lollygaggers and noodleheads on the weekends would not know a good club if you hit them side the head with it. Those you refer to as noodleheads etc we call them Mumbleypegs because they do not play golf they just as you say lollygag around

As far as cult following...

it’s Adams Golf...9015D started it and their tour issue fairway woods and hybrids had a huge following. You couldn’t just find them in every shop like the other so called cult clubs. You had to search them out and when you found your gem you defended it. 😂 

Most of the other options were great clubs, 975D, J33, 510TP and others, Pings, 845’s but you could buy them anywhere. Adams had a certain mystique.
